I know its been talked about before but who has some DJ's that they can recomend? I looked at Body Rock and they were a bit too pricey for the package (or lack of). Im not getting married until 11/07 but I think I should start doing some homework so it wont be too crazy when time comes to book.

Try In the mix (www.inthemixdj.com). They are very nice and professional, do a great job and are very reasonably priced. They are located in Mineola.

I recommend Absolute Entertainment!!!! They are awesome, everyone who works there is. We're using Kevin the owner, and he was sooo helpful, and they're prices were really good. Also, he did my cousin's wedding two and a half years ago and we still remember how awesome they were!

Some of the more popular DJs on this site include:
High Voltage-great prices, low key, solid reviews Tommy Tunes-more expensive, very highly rated if you get one of their top MCs (Joe E, Frank, I don't know who else) iffy sometimes if you don't get their top guys FM Entertainment-Also good prices, good reviews Long Island Sounds-Good reviews but I don't know much more about them

Me too! I can't say enough good things about Vinny. We used him already for a backyard party and he was great. All my guests were commenting on what an excellent job he did. Someone said in their review recently (I think Holly) that Vinny is proof that you don't have to pay a ton of money to get great quality.
If Vinny was booked for my date, I was going to look into FM Entertainment or Music by Michael. Those were my second and third choices. I was really looking for the not 'in your face' or 'guido' type of DJ.

We used DJ Tom Gordon who owns his own company and is a radio DJ in addition to doing weddings.
He was excellent!

We just signed with music by michael. He is pricey but also not your ordinary DJ. Definately worth checking out. My second choice was Vinny from High Voltage.

I also booked with FM Entertainment. I was unsure about a DJ that I had booked. I heard alot of good things about Frank. I went to his shop for a showcase that shows how he will do your wedding. It was great. I then booked him on the spot and CX my other DJ. I have full faith in Frank.

We didn't want an over-the-top, in-your-face DJ, so after meeting with a few, we found Steve from 'Then 'Til Now' to be the best - with the BEST price. And he really didn't try to oversell any of his other features, which I really didn't want. He's classy and very professional. VERY nice guy.
I also didn't want a a 'KTU Dance Party' feel to our wedding, and he's the only one I didn't get that feeling from. My friend has been to three weddings that he's DJ'd, and she's a big fan (even thought she MUCH prefers bands - so for her to like him is huge!)

we're using Vinny from High Voltage. we used them for my sister's sweet 16 party last year and they were great....very professional, played all her 'must play' songs, etc. and his prices are very reasonable!
