How many months do yuo normally book the DJ? I am getting married in October 2003, and my mom is harassing me about not having a DJ yet. We have been engaged for 22 days, and we are looking for a photographer right now. Am I really behind?

I don't think you are super behind, however, keep in mind that the good dj's will get booked up. It doesn't hurt to start looking. I think I booked my band RIGHT after photos.

we did hall and church in october, video last week and now we are looking for photographer.

our next vendor after photo will be DJ. we're getting married sep 2004 so we do have time, but we're trying to get all our vendors as soon as possible this way we have them, they are set and payment plans are in motion.

You're not terribly behind, but you should definitely make it a priority right after you book your photographer. Your ceremony, reception hall, dj/band and photography are the most important things to book right away. These things usually book about a year in advance. Good Luck!

I'm getting married in May and I just booked my DJ on Monday. Not saying you should follow my example, but I had no problems at all finding a DJ that I liked on such short notice. Plus I think it's the reason that I was quoted great prices at all of the places I went to.

I'm getting married in Sept and booked my DJ in Dec and got the last slot on my night. The good ones go fast. I wouldn't put it off much longer if I was you. But, I shoould talk, I still haven't gone dress shopping!!

I am getting married the same day as you and we just booked our Dj tonight. This was our last thing vendor we had to book. I would definatly get your photographer first because they book up very fast then get your DJ. Djs usually have a few DJ/MC on hand where as photographer there is only one person or just a couple to choose from. Good Luck

i'm getting married about a month before you and i still have no dj. i won't be getting to that until march. i'm sure it's important to do it early, but as someone said dj companies usually have many people on staff so i doubt you'll have too much of a problem. unless there's someone you have in mind that you really love. but don't stress too much :)

Don't worry, I am getting married the weekend before you & I don't have a DJ yet either. I am looking at photographers right now & hope to have that booked by the end of the month, then I will start seeing DJs. I think if you don't have your heart sent on someone in particular then your fine. Plus, ask people you know if they recommend anyone, everyone I know has a DJ to recommend it seems.
