DJ's, I want the REAL review from the experts: US!

ok girls,

So, as many of you know I am a NY'er now living in LA....planing from 3000 miles away...INSANE. My FH and me are heading back for a week this summer to get some wedding stuff done and I need your help to make sure I get the goods on some DJ's.

We are considering Body Rock, Tommy's Tunes, Bravaura, and International Sounds. What have you guys heard, experienced from other weddings etc???

I can only vouche for Body Rock - they are really good. They did FBIL/FSIL's wedding last month and they really kept the party going all night long.

We saw a few of the ones you mentioned above. Bravura took our breath away. Their showcase was that amazing, really. No gimmicks, freebies, coupons etc. They were that amazing that they didnt need it. One of the best decisions we made and felt SO comfortable with!

Look into li sound they are probably the best dj company I've met with and have seen.

We also went with Bravura...we met with Tony and they were 100% professional and classy. The live musicians are incredibly talented.

Im using bravura also.. they are incredible.
They have a great dj/band mix.. they are also doing my uplighting. They are slightly more expensive than most, but absolutley worth every penny.. I went to one wedding they did and pretty much signed them on that day!

Tommy Tunes.

I met with a few different ones - they were the most professional and seemed to have the best reputation.

We booked with Parties Alive and couldn't be happier. I love their approach to everything. I'd recommend them HIGHLY!!

We booked with Tommy's Tunes. I found that they were professional and accommodating and really worked with us and what we wanted our reception to be like. We spoke with Tommy when we first met, and then again when we booked. Our MC is Frank and our DJ is Dominick.. we are also having Gene sing during dinner.

Variety music has been GREAT.

they are so professional and were very accommodating

to my budget. My FH HATES meeting with vendors and he

walked away really impressed and jumped to book

ray is awesome, and I'm so excited to have them for my wedding!!

I brag about them all the time lol

they won 2010 BEST OF WEDDINGS by theknot.com

Im gonna be very honest, I really can't review any other Djs because I have never used them. My Close frend Kevin is the owner of his own DJ Company and myself along with friends and family have been using him and his company for a long time, to me he is the absolute best! They do a Phenominal job at any event. The dance floor is always packed and they are soo good at keeping parties going all night long! haha! I am meeting w/ Tommy Tunes and have heard nothing but wonderful things about them. Check out their web site and see what cool song lists they have.

I looked at some of those but ended up booking with PHIL from After Hours Entertainment. He was AMAZING!

Sounds like there are some great choices out there! I have been checking out all the websites, but it's so hard to book a DJ based on a website......so all your feedback has been really helpful!

Our main thing is we want someone who is going to be easy and accommodating to work with from so far away. Looking for a company that can take our love of all kinds of music and use it to read the crowd and keep the energy up. FH is way turned off by the MC that likes to hear him-self talk all night...gotta say I agree. I have been to weddings where the DJ is talking every chance he gets, or playing house music after a speech and it seemed to really throw the flow of the wedding off. I just dont want it to turn into a cheesy night or get a Jersey Shore fist pumping MC! lol.!

I know I must sound like an over nervous wreck but...well maybe I kind of am at this point in planning....not knowing what company is the right fit for our taste is def stressing me out
