DJ's - Who Did You Book/Considering/Definite No's

We booked our reception . . .now to start the real planning . . .

Advise please on your choices for DJ's

Looking to bbok someone that isn't outrageously priced.

I know Tommy's Tunes is good but the starting package was $1795 ($1695 for me since my mom knew him - that's not even a 10% discount!!!)

we used Absolute Entertainment! They were AMAZING! I cant wait until I can use them again for an event!
All night and still a month later people are telling me how amazing the DJ was! And people were up dancing the whole time!!!!

How was pricing?

i am booking vinny from high voltage. he is great and his prices are very affordable.

We booked Hi-Energy, the owners name is Ralph. We have used him for many occassions and all the weddings in the family. Our package is about $1000 which includes reception & ceremony. I am not getting a light package or a give away package, but I know that he has those things included in his lowest package which is about $1050.

look on their website its all there I think we paid 1640 for a dj, mc and giveaways oh and a keyboard player for the CH! Jeff was amazing to deal with, such a nice guy! He even seemed really excited about our wedding the week before which was nice! We had Jeff and Alex (MC & DJ) and Nick was our KB player

We are using Absolute -- just one DJ tho, no extra stuff. About $800, 6 hr. reception out on the north fork.
Kelly what type of music did you have? Jeff is great to work with, very professional and knowledgable.

I chose Body Rock, who came highly recommended to me. They were good, although they made a couple of mistakes on my wedding day.

I also considered Spin Around Sound.

I also looked at:

More than Music (very expensive)
In the Mix (kept calling me & bothering me - huge turnoff)
Spectrum Music (very nice)

we didn't book them we decided to go w/ a band, but 'Classie Sounds' we saw at a showcase they were awsome. They had everything dancers, plasma screens to show ceremony, giveaways and they sounded great.
They also seemed very professional.
