DJ's - Who Did You Book/Considering/Definite No's

We booked our reception . . .now to start the real planning . . .

Advise please on your choices for DJ's

Looking to bbok someone that isn't outrageously priced.

I know Tommy's Tunes is good but the starting package was $1795 ($1695 for me since my mom knew him - that's not even a 10% discount!!!)

I chose Music By Michael... He was actually the first DJ I met with...but I thought he was great so we booked him.

We booked Get In Tune. We knew that we wanted them and didn't look elsewhere.

We went with Bravura, they are a vendor on this site if you want to check them out.

We booked with Joe E from Tommys Tunes. I clicked with his personality and I loved them at the watermill showcase.

Vinny from High Voltage Sounds - I refused to pay $1600-2000 for someone to play music at my wedding! I didn't even meet with Vendors in that price range.

We are getting a great package with him for around $850. And he LOVES his job.

ETA: He is completely comfortable playing WHATEVER you want and don't want - super flexible, that's what I like for my pickiness.

We used Get in Tune and were very happy with them. I was a little worried that people wouldn't dance as much because it was an afternoon wedding, but they kept everyone dancing the whole time. Not cheesy and played all the songs I asked for.

We're using Big Hits Entertainment. Saw them at an expo and LOVED them. Gerry's such a nice guy. Definitely check them out.

I used Michael also--he was great!! So low-key, not a cheesy MC/DJ. Very classy! Plus his website database makes planning so easy.

I chose Music by Michael. I will not name who else I went to see, but most of the popular ones on here, and I have to say, they were overpriced, cheesey and ego maniacs. I just wanted someone to supply music and not someone to try and steal the spotlight. I didn't want anyone who would try to grind my grandma and I didn't want my wedding to turn into a club-like, circus atmosphere. The ONLY dj we found who we would entrust our reception to was Music by Michael. Everyone else seemed like a grandma grinder.

We looked at Top Hat Entertainent - they were really nice but catered more to an older crowd (not old just say 40-50's ) We booked Body Rock & they are awesome!

We booked Tommy Tunes.

Before that, we checked out Bravura (definite NO for us), and the resident DJ at our Chateau...I can't even recall the name so that shows you what our impression of him was!

Variety Music is the only DJ we even checked out. We have heard them several times in the past and know one of the MCs. They are a vendor on here- they are great!

we used Absolute Entertainment! They were AMAZING! I cant wait until I can use them again for an event!
All night and still a month later people are telling me how amazing the DJ was! And people were up dancing the whole time!!!!
