dj's/mc's

Hi.

For those who have dj's do you think it is best to hire both a dj and an mc or can I rely on one person to do both.

I am really not supposed to be handling this as I gave this job to FH, but just want to steer him in the right direction.

My package comes with both...it might be a good idea to have both (IMO), because the DJ may not be the best speaker...

I like the idea of having two people, but I don't know if it is necessary.

I didn't want an MC, just a DJ. I have been to too many weddings with bad MC's who take over the dance floor to teach the Macarena. That wasn't my style. So I went with just the DJ and it was perfect. He took care of everything and had the party going from the first song. All depends on the atmosphere you are looking for.

I was a nut...I contracted for a dj...mc...and an asst...(had to feed all of them too) and told them that I didn't want them to talk a lot (which they did not)

so while I think 1 is probably enough...I would still want 2 just to feel safe that when the dj has to eat or pee or dazes out...there is someone around...

I was a guest at several wedding last years. It is pretty standard to have a DJ & MC. Just make sure you are crystal clear with the DJ & MC about what you want & do NOT want as far as interactions, announcements & song selections.

My package comes with both. I want someone to do the announcing (Bridal party, speeches, etc....) and also to get the crowd motivated. Although I don't want them to go too far.........
You should be able to tell them your preference of style, etc.............
