What should I be looking for or asking a prospective DJ....all i know is i dont want any cheesiness or goofy voices....i really dont want any toys or props either but FH is insisting....
What questions besides pricing should I ask? Is it too early to have a song list?

Divabride has a checklist for this too (Diva- I am all about promoting your lists!!), although we didn't ask many questions cuz we chose a DJ company where we know the MC. We have heard them before as well though and knew that no matter who we got they'd do a great job...

Oh, and we didn't give a songlist yet- they gave us a form for that to give back before the wedding.

I think as long as you are specific with them you shouldn't have a problem. When we met with our DJ, we were extremely specific about what we wanted. Similar to what you are saying, no cheesy voice or props of any kind. We kept saying it too, and he was really cool about it. He said he will do exactly what we tell him to do.
