Do 9yr old girls...

still play with barbie dolls? My FG is 9yrs old but I saw this really cute barbie bride on toys r us but their recommended age is 4-7yrs..

my daughter is 8 and she doesnt really like barbies anymore she likes hannah montanna and things like clothes, jewelery, and CD's HTH

Well I'm not sure if this was normal but I played with Barbies up until 8th grade! It was so hard for me to let go!!!

I guess I'm the only one

Seriously I started to hide my love of Barbies or any dolls for that matter from friends!

I still love Barbies to this day- I just don't play with 'em. Well, unless I'm playing with my nieces. I do have my precious collection of Collector Barbies that have a movie theme- LOVE them!

Oh what the hell, it had to be normal for a kid like me!!! I was such a drama queen and loved to have my Barbies act out like they were on soap operas!

I would agree. My FH's daughter is 7 and she is starting to pull away from playing barbies and is now into all of the things above. I would still get it though because no matter what age she is she probably wouldn't play with it anyway. I know my FH's daughter displays all her special barbie's in a case. HTH

Depends on the kid: I know I def. played with them until I was 12. I loved acting with them. AND I played with neighborhood kids. So HA...

Thank GOD I'm not alone!

I was a Cabbage Patch Kid Collector into Jr. High.
I still have all of them. I remember playing with barbies when I was nine at friend houses. I had a few but was more into baby dolls. Now, I have my collectible babries in their boxes. I hope that I helped you out.

I did the same thing! Though, I honestly don't recall when I really stopped playing with them. Probably around 6th grade, b/c in 7th I was on sports teams at school, so I didn't have time for it anymore. I still have most of them, and I think I still have the Barbie Camero, kitchen set, and some other random 'house' stuff in a box somewhere at my parent's house. I used to love those dolls!

Yes, its best if you ask her mom. My daughter is 10 and she plays with her barbies a lot(although she does prefers the less princessy ones) She doesnt prefer the ones with big gowns or complicated hair dos, and when shopping for a friend birthday she prefered not to buy her a barbie doll because some of the girls do not want to play (or let people know) they play with barbies.

However I also, played with Barbies until I wwas like 12 like some of the other girls(different times I guess, I am 29 now ) but IMO if the little girl is a girly girl she will appreciate the doll no matter what specially since is a themed barbie with a wedding gown to honor her being a flower girl in your wedding.
