Do any of you feel that Vendors seem to cater to the guys over you?
What I am trying to say is that I am a very upfront person and I have experience in event planning so when I go to a vendor and they go on with the sales pitch forever I get annoyed. The other day I went to book a band and the vendor weent on to say that they have a keyboard that sounds like a guitar, I was like 'what the heck they have has that for over a decade already what's the point'. I often feel that the vendors 'talk' to the guys more than to me, which is dumb becuse everyone knows its the bride making all the choices. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

I had this experience with The Fountain Head' in Westchester...
Whenever I asked him a question the guys answer always started like..'Well John......' um hello, I asked you the question, not John!!

It's not actually what you think. We both have a say in OUR SPECIAL DAY. I let my fiancee got to the first round and after she picks what she likes I go and make the final decision. She loved The Watermill and said she could see us getting married there. I didn't like the dcor and feel of the place. Bruce was really nice but I couldn't see myself getting married there. SO it really is both of your days. It's a shame most grooms don't take a more active role.
As far as the vendors I have seen them take more toward her since she made the initial meeting.
Best Wishes,
Thomas

You sound like my FH! He keeps saying all the vendors pay attention to me and ignore him. They all say the bride makes all the decisions anyway, so I think they are hoping to win me over so I can convince FH.

Not at all!! My FH works in LI so he has made it to some appointments without me. He said people felt they were wasting their time if i wasn't there.

MY DH and I went to every single appointment together and every one of the vendors said
'Yes, you are both getting married, but it's her day'.

I noticed one or two vendors do that, and my FI was uncomfortable with that. He feels that they should be catering to me, because he'd be happy with just about anything. We didn't end up booking either of them.

For instance I went to see a band and my fiance', my mom and his parents showed up. My dad couldn't come, anyway the vendor sent a thank you to my FMIL and keeps calling her but not me. This is funny because I am actually the type of girl who does all the negotiating. It's just funny, I think its because I look very young.
