Do any of you feel weird...

Ok. I've been engaged for a little over a month, and I still find it wierd to call my FH 'fiance' when I am talking about him. I have to hesitate before I say it because the word 'boyfriend' starts to come out of my mouth, and then I realize NO, now its FIANCE. And then I get all giggly. Some of you have been engaged much longer than me, does this go away?
Oh man just wait until I have to call him 'my husband'

It definitely goes away! You just get used to it! I've been engaged for a year...now it's like 'duh., he's my fiance!'

I know what you mean Lauren...it just feels weird saying it...it's not a word that rolls off my tongue. But I'm doing my best.

Yeah, it feels strange at first, especially if you've been together for a while. We've been together for over 6 years, so it did take a while to remember to call him fiance and not boyfriend. But we both still slip sometimes. hehe

It feels SO wierd... not so much when I am talking to vendors anymore...or when Im on here... but to everyone else... SOO WIERD!! just wait until we have to start calling them our husband!! oh boy!

I still call him my boyfriend. Some people correct me.....but I feel more comfortable calling him boyfriend.

i still call fh 'BOYFRIEND' (and i have been engaged since x-mas of 03 lol )
only on here do i say fh lol
but when i talk about him to someone
its always 'BOYFRIEND' i don't know why i do that ..

maybe it could be that we dated for 6 years before i got the ring lol j/k. and im just so used to calling him BF LOLOL

I totally understand what you are saying. I have been engaged for about 4/5 months and it took awhile to get used to. Your right it just doesn't roll off your tounge. I will say that it has gotten easier. I can't imagine what it will be like when I have to say husband.

I have been engaged for alittle more then 3 months and still have to catch myself at times. I still want to say boyfriend but then it hits me no its fiance.

It was weird at first....but now its not! I said boyfriend last night and I thought that was weird after getting used to fiance.

I think husband is going to be weird!

Fiance is a weird word...IMO

I do! People correct me all the time. i am trying to make a conscious effort to call him fiancee, especially when we are together! I called him my boyfriend recently and he got upset!

I think the problem is the word FIANCE it's toooo damn fancy! I feel like I'm PROCLAIMING that I'm getting married when I say it. So to all the VENDORS I say FIANCE without sulking but everyone else still gets boyfriend. I figure my ring is noticeable enough.

Its just such a funny and weird word!! Boyfriend is ok and so is husband but Fiance is funny...you;re right its too fancy!

i havent had a hard time calling him my fiance. i have a different situation.
i find it so hard to call his mother, mom. she wants me to call her mom but its so wierd. i dont know is its the fact that i have called my mom for 21 years and now she wants me to call her mom. i'm not sure....and she gets so mad at me...its not that i dont feel confortable with it, im not sure.... anyone else have a situation like this?????

I call FMIL mom, but I don't do it in front of my mother. It doesn't feel right. I call my mother 'ma'.

(I call my friend'smother's mom also.)

i call all my friends mothers mom all the time...but for some reason its so wierd with my fiances mom. its like i try to say it and no words come out.....lol
