Do any of you have bride to be's attending your wedding?

Ok, here goes a little of my insecurity acting up again.

I have two women who are attending my wedding- they are the fiance's of my FH friends.

Both are getting married the middle of next year. One is getting married at a fancy schmancy country club the other in the islands. They are both the high maintenance type of ladies with over the top taste. They both mentioned that they will be taking notes at our wedding. I know I am being silly but I cannot help to think that they will be scrutinizing and to some degree being overly critical about everything.

Do any of you have or had people at your wedding whom you think / though would do this?

I know, I am nuts!!!!!

I have 5 weddings to go to next year and all those brides-to-be will be there! I can relate! (can't really go into it fear of lurkers)!

Well Im having Curly2003 attending my wedding!!! But I know she is there to SUPPORT ME!!! Cause thats the type of person she is. She is very sweet and caring and Not the type to critize!! And who ever else is there that is going to say $hit could kiss my A$$!!!

Your wedding will be wonderful. Don't worry about what these 2 women might think, everyone has different styles and tastes.

I think it was in poor taste for them to tell you that, but I think that everyone that attends a wedding is going to have something to say about it - there will always be the people looking for the f*ck ups and the mishaps and those who are looking for the single wilting flower in the centerpiece, etc., but you can't worry about that. Let them take all the notes they want, and when you're at their wedding, just know that yours was 100 times better than theirs will be. Why? Because it was YOURS and that's all that matters!

There will be a few brides to be attending my wedding...but I'm not worried about what they think. I know my wedding will be wonderful...and SO WILL YOURS! Stop worrying and stressing yourself out over this...it's not worth it. If they think anything bad about you, that's their problem.

K- I have 2 bride to be's and I could care less what they think. I am doing my best for me and that's all I can really do. Some things (most) were done on a budget but it is what it is

Your wedding will be wonderful because it will be your creation.

My cousin is engaged and was one of my BM. I heard that she said such terrible things, and spoke to others about how she would do things differently than me. Her dress was big on her, she complained about that. She wanted to order a new one. DUH. Has to come from the same dyelot and I ordered to her measurements. I can't help if it it's big, it fit her largest measurement.

Then she announced her engagement at my bridal shower. Funny, but I didn't really care. She didn't steal any of my thunder, and I'm not one who would care anyway.

At the wedding, she told my sister that she was keenly interested in what went wrong, so she could take note of it.

She didn't come to the RD, where we gave out the BM gifts. The next day we had the actual rehearsal, and I hear she was ticked off that I didn't think (silly me, I guess I shouldn't have been thinking about the 900 other things I had to think about) to bring her gift there. So I gave it to her the morning of the wedding at my house. She left the wrapping all over my dining room and never even opened the card.

The card she intended for DH and me never made it to the reception. Dropped in the parking lot. Run over many many timex.

So she was taking notes on me? HA. I took more notes on her lack of common courtesy at my wedding. I don't see revenge, but I will always remember it...

People like that are present at every single wedding! The ones that always go:'oh, i can't believe she did this and that! Oh my gosh, I would never use this music! Oh no, our flowers were so much better! Oh, god, this dress is all wrong for her!' Who CARES! it will be your day and it will be AWSOME!

My wedding was actually a week after a friend's wedding. Each wedding, though usually routine, are different and unique in their own way. Guests alone can make your wedding different. Don't think twice about someone else's wedding. The event itself already puts people in a great state of mind. If your 'friends' are going to take notes, then they aren't friends, and for that reason alone, who cares what they would think. I've been to 'high-end' weddings and more casual weddings, and to be honest with you, I have always had a much better time at the casual ones, high-end weddings at times, tend to place people more on guard and then they don't have a good time because they are more concerned about how they look, verses having a good time.

KYSHA, you have SOOOO many other things to worry about than these two girls. Why do you care what they think? I mean you can never please anyone. Everyone wants to please everyone but you can't. There are people that will always talk negative about something just b/c that is the type of person they are.

I heard a negative comment at my e-party. Example: from FH's side. They wanted soca music to be played. When the music was played, NOT one person from his side got up to dance. I was irritated at them. The entire time during the party, my side was dancing non-stop. And you know what? I thought about it and said to myself: I don't give a rats A$$ if they weren't happy. They weren't happy because they didn't get their behinds up to dance. That is their problem not mine. The music was played and they didn't take advantage so tough.
Kysha you can't think about pleasing other people. You have to please yourself first. I know its selfish to think that way but you should be thinking about you and your FH.

I keep thinking the same thing - that my wedding won't be up to other people's standards. But in the end I remind myself that all that matters is that FH and I are happy and nothing goes wrong. Who cares what they think!

since i'm the first of my friends and my family to get married and there will be 3 engaged couples (as of right now) at my wedding, i'd thought about it. but i think thta we're all such different peole that it won't be a comparison..it'll be more of an experience for them!
and i'm sure your wedding will be fabulous and if they have anything to complain about it'll be their own bad manners!!!

Who cares about them...are they getting married to have the wedding of their dreams or to outdo you?

I had one B2B at my wedding in particular...and I thought our wedding was much better...and I noticed that she COPIED many of things I did...

also...not only B2B's are watching...a coworker told all our other coworkers every single detail of my wedding...good thing she liked it all...

I dont think you should really care what these two think. Obviously, all of you had
different ideas for your weddings so what you do shouldnt matter to them. I would
take it as a compliment if the copy anything you do though. Good luck and dont

but i dont think you have to worry about these people, they probably are just looking for nice ideas

I have 3 B2B coming to my wedding & none of them could care less about 'taking notes' I think that is shady & obviuosly high maintanence & high class are not the same thing

One B2B has actually been helping me with the finer details, b/c she knows I am a perfectionist & so is she.
