One of my friends doesn't discipline her children and it shows.(I mean if he does something wrong, she doesn't correct him and explain to him what he did or punish him when he is bad in any way whether it be no tv that night or to go to his room.) The older one who is about 9 is so fresh. I stopped by her house before and he threw a snowball right by me. I told him that if he hits me, I will hit him back with one. He is always talking back to people and she doesn't say anything. I said something to her last time he said something very rude and she dismissed it and made excuses for him. Its very sad because its been taking its toll on our friendship because I hardly see her because I can't stand the older kid's behavior.

Re: Do any of your friends have fresh kids?
YES! It is like I want to say, 'who is the two year old and who is the parent'. It always makes me think, is it really that hard to have some control over your kids or do I just think it is a lot easier than it looks? I'm thinking it is a little bit of both, but sometimes I see these kids in public that just need to be smacked!
I was at the airport over Thanksgiving and this kid, probably about 6-7 was jumping up and down on a security device while waiting to go through security. The mother just stood there and watched him. Boy, do things like that anger me!
Then I was eating dinner at a nice restaurant and a little boy was running laps around the restaurant with no shoes on while the parents sat and ate. It took everything for me not to stick my foot out and trip the little devil.

I will say YES - and I cannot elaborate further unfortunately....it only teaches me though how important it is to raise nice children. I hope that I am able to do just that. No child should throw things - or act up in such a manner - it is a direct reflection on the parenting.
my niece...she was conceived while BIL and SIL were divorced...they remarried after spending 30K on a divorce...so she is their angel and can do no wrong...
need I say more...

I know that every child will act up once in a while but this is the child who talks back and is always fresh. The parents just don't care. I just don't understand it.

Erica, that picture! Im and at the same time.
It really annoys me when parents either dont apologize on behalf of the child (if the child is too young to really understand or apologize) or if they dont discipline the child.
how rude !

Re: Do any of your friends have fresh kids?
My best friend since I was 7 has 4 kids! The oldest one is bi-polar which can explain for most of his rudeness. But the other 2 have no excuse. The youngest is 1 1/2. She is sweet but, I'm afraid the others will corrupt her. But, her kids curse like drunken sailors. And I will always yell at them for that. (I'm pretty much their Aunt so I demand respect!) Then again I will be on the phone & she will be cursing at them. And I always tell her 'Watch the language! You wonder why they curse' She is under 5 foot so she just says they're bigger then me what am I supposed to do? Which is just a cop-out to me! I pretty much don't go over their much. And I watch VERY carefully when my son is near them!

I know exactly what you mean. My friend YELLS all the time at her kids and they yell back.

OOH! I hate fresh kids. I am a stickler for disciplined kids. My husband always says that I will be discilplinarian in our family. I told him he's darn right -- I will not have any child of mine embarrassing me in opublic.

Natasha- I hate to see kids like that too. What is really bad is that I never hang out with my friend much because of her older kid. He is just so fresh that we can't stand him. He will throw things at you or punch you and my friend makes excuses for him instead of telling him he did wrong. It makes me sick!

If ANY of my friends kids punched me! I would make sure they discipline them! That's if I don't put my shoe up their arse first!!

Re: Do any of your friends have fresh kids?
OMG GREAT SUBJECT! Just recently at my daughter's Christening, a friend of mine who I've known since we were 10 years old, brought her two kids...4 and 2 1/2 years old. The reception was in a restaurant and they ran all over the place like wild animals, their Mother brought enough games and snacks for at least another 10 kids.
Her darling son stuck his action figure in the cake and smeared it all over one of my guest's suit jacket
I was told by other guest sitting at the same table that she 'allowed' the children to run around the table as long as they stayed in the immediate area....
The kids were also dressed like rag-a-muffins and so did my friend, she came in jeans and sneakers! Needless to say it diffinitely put a strain on our relationship although she doesn't know it but I did confront her and tell her how rude her kids behaved and she apoligized and we haven't spoke since, frankly I don't care and they will never be invited back to another one of our parties.

Re: Do any of your friends have fresh kids?
Yes and I think I posted this before (?) My friend's son came over oneday & pulled the string of our blinds up & down so many times, they came down (luckily he didn't get hurt!)
Then he opened and shut the glass door on my wall unit so many times, I swear each time I thought it would break, I tried to take him away several times and tell him 'No' but he kept going back.
Next he opened and slammed one of my bedroom doors so hard and so loud, so many times, my landlord came up and complained.
This was all in one visit while the mother did not say a word!! She never repremands him no matter where they are, even in her own home.
Needless to say, that was the last time that kid was in my house!
