Do bubbles stain?

A friend from work just informed me that bubbles will stain my gown!! Is this true? That's the only option our church gives us!

Re: Do bubbles stain?

This is from The Knot...

Wedding Details: Will Bubbles Stain?

Q. I really wanted my guests to blow bubbles as we left the church (I don't want to use rice and butterflies seem impractical). But one of my friends told me that bubbles can stain your clothes! Is this true?

A. There's no firm answer for this, unfortunately -- it depends on the batch of bubbles. Though it's just soap and water after all, it's not impossible to believe that a high concentration of soap could lead to stains. To avoid a formalwear catastrophe, try this: Pick a few different bottles, grab your honey or your maids, and have yourselves a bubble blowing party. Wearing your laundry day clothes, blow the bubbles directly onto the material. If they stain, move onto the next bottle. Happy blowing!

ETA: Just wanted to clarify that I did not ask this question, it can be found on The Knot under Wedding Details and in the Q&A Section.

Re: Do bubbles stain?

We had a bubble machine during our reception and I didn't see any bubble stains on my dress... but then again, it got so dirty from grass stains, dirt on the dance floor, my dog walking on my train, that a few bubble stains would just add more character to it

Re: Do bubbles stain?

My mother's new (and gorgeous!) dress was ruined by bubbles at my cousin's wedding.
