I've been on the BCP but switched to a different one last spring. I feel like no matter what I try, my face won't clear up. Does my BCP have something to do with it?

hmm, thats strange because i have heard that BCPs actually clear up your skin. Talk to your dr. I think Yaz is supposed to be good for your skin and supposedly you won't gain weight on it.

Mine help with my acne, but during my cycle, it comes back. You should check with your doctor for other ones.

It might, but what helps for one person may not have the same effect on you. BCP and their effects are specific to the individual taking them. You could love one of them and it could wreak havoc on someone else. Definitely ask your dr. or maybe go see a derm.

yep it's possible. i remember way back when my doctor showed me a chart she had that showed the different BCs and different ones had different side effects. she stayed away from giving me certain brands because they're known to cause your skin to become oily = acne. others have the opposite effect. your doctor should know which is which.

I'm on Yasmin which i absolutely love...however i do have to say that the only bad side effect is my skin my cheeks constantly have baby breakouts on them..i cover them up with makeup but it's still s ucks 'cause i've always had such clear skin. ANYWAYS, i'm sticking with it because it's the only side effect it's given me. I haven't a pound(which is REALLY hard to find with bc) and it hasn't made me act like a crazy person lol. i figured i can deal with the skin issue for now. lol sorry i'm of no help - just wanted u to know u're not alone & it's not that bad! think of the girls that get the weightgain & emotions ALONG WITH bad skin!

ps: i DO think everyone is different regardless of what each pill says it's side effect is. For instance, my cousin is on Yasmin(same as me) and she's an emotional basketcase! however that hasn't effected me at all....her skin is clear, yet mine has minor breakouts(and it's from my skin getting ultra dry which is even weirder!) ANYWAYS, i think it just depends on each individual and u just have to find one that works for u. Also, i don't know how long u've been on it, but my Dr. said to give it atleast 3months..sometimes because ur hormones undergo changes with adjusting to it, they get out of wack - but will regulate within the following weeks. so if the BCP ur on is relatively new give it a little time. I know the trial period is a pain, but once u find one u like it's so worth it!
