So let's just say FH's dad is mentally 'off' ... he does not want to pay for a tuxedo and to be honest, I don't want us to pay for his tuxedo. The best gift this man could give me is to stay home the day of our wedding.
Anyway, my dad was planning on wearing a tux, do dads usually wear tuxes to their kid's weddings?
Anyone know?

our dads are - if the men in the bridal party are wearing tuedos then the dads should wear one - if its a suit wedding and the groomsmens are all in a suit, than a suit is fine - at least thats the rule i would go by...

my dad is. fh's dad is deceased. I dont think its a big deal for your FFIL not to wear one- just have him seated at the ceremony and not walk down the aisle and save yourself the hassle

Yes both fathers did.
But if you dont want to pay for his and he doesnt want to pay, it wont be a big deal. Maybe he can just wear a black suit.

PERFECT! That is what we will do. Thank you! I don't want him walking anyway. I'm sorry girls, I have serious issues w/this man and I wish he'd just stay home. We have to pay for his hotel room and everything else and he had the nerve to say that our wedding is being blown out of proportion for a couple our age. Please note, we are having a low-key wedding with a 120 guest min. at the Riviera. What should we do? A backyard BBQ? (not that there's anything wrong with that) Ugh.

Both ours did, but they also both bought their own and just rented the vests we wanted them to get. If they don't have it, I don't think it's a huge deal though....

Yes, yes, yes....they are a very important part of the wedding and need to be distinguished from any other guest.
