if they are a photographer for another company-- (i.e.--Patken, Duet, Imagine) you should probably tip.

if they own the company themself and are independent (i.e.--Gary Leli, Dan Wagner, etc) you technically shouldn't have to tip since they are earning all the money themself

my photographer was independent--and just cause she did a good job--and i think i gave like $100-125 extra

Thanks Melissa

My photography company hires people on the outside to work for him....my photographer that I have for the wedding has her own business as well but also works for my photography company....i think im gonna give her a tip then....maybe 125? Thats sufficient right?

Yes, unless maybe it's the owner, but if it were me I would still tip the owner

Absolutely!

You don't have to tip if the person is self-employed or the owner of the company, but many people do anyway.

We had 2 photographers and an assistant. We tipped the photographers $100 each and the assistant $50.

I think anywhere from $50-100 is fine for the photographer.
