do i feed the cocktail hour music vendor?

I have a pianist for the cocktail hour. Does he come to dinner? And if I am paying him $200, how much should I tip him?

I am curious on this answer too, I have a sax and keyboard player for my cocktail hour as well. I was thinking to NOT feed them since he will not be there for the dinner, I suppose he can eat some of the cocktail hour food. I think I will be tiping them $50, $25 each. Is this ok?

Don't feed them!! They'll snack at the cocktail hour if they want to (although, I had my trio for ceremony & cocktail hour and they didn't eat).

I didn't tip mine. I didn't really think about it, actually!

I don't think you are supposed to feed them, since they will only be there for a few hours. Good luck!

I would not feed someone who is playing for one hour. If you booked him directly (not through an agency such as Franklin Wayne) then you do not NEED to tip him since he gets 100% of the fee.

you don't have to feed them...I didn't feed mine for ceremony and cocktail...I have them $20 each...I thought that was a pretty nice tip ($10 an hour TIP)just I suppose youy could go to $10...

Thanks for the info. Of course I asked for the info before I read all the posts and saw the info. I emailed him. It's just what I'm looking for for my ceremony & cocktail hour.
