DO i go for it on flowers??
Ladies, I am not sure what to do. I budgeted a fair amount of $$ for flowers. I met with 2 florists so far and liked both, but i really just fell in love with Sugar Magnolias. Here is my probelm. The first florist as way UNDER my budget, so i was thinking, COOL. now Sugar Magnolias (who i fell in love with) is a little over (but not by much at all). I feel like it is worth it, but for some reason i also have this nagging feeling that maybe i should check out one more florist (to see if i can fall in the middle). My site (the Vanderbilt Mansion) really likes In Full Bloom and recommends that i talk with them. I think I would like to but i am planning from DC and not planning on going up any time soon and I just want to be done with this already.Plus, i almost feel bad meeting with someone else after hitting it off so well wit Heidi from SM. What do i do?? Should I just go for it and book SM and move on?!?

Re: DO i go for it on flowers??
Time is money. If you are happy, and the price is right, then driving yourself crazy to save a few bucks may not be worth it.ON THE OTHER HAND... I used In Full Bloom for my wedding, and absolutely adored them! The flowers were gorgeous, and they were great to work with.
Sorry, I know that didn't help -- but if you have any questions about In Full Bloom, let me know.

Re: DO i go for it on flowers??
Joro, I would just go with it and go over the budget if its no more than say 10%. Hitting it off with the florist will save you time and possible disappointment if you meet with the other florist. But as Michelle loved their flowers, you may want to talk to the third florist over the phone to see if you like their personality/pricing.

It might make you feel better to see someone else...but remember house vendors usually give a kicjk back to the hall...so you may not get as much for your money...I think you will find that you will go over on your budget in almost every category (I know I did - then finally scraped the budget)...so if its just a little bit and you love them....go for it

Hi : ) I'm using Heidi also. She was alittle over my budget as well but i had such a good vibe with her and was so happy with everything she discussed with me and showed me that I knew I had to go with her. I say go with your gut feeling because if you don't you'll always be second guessing your choice : ). Good Luck!!!!

Go with who you feel comfortable with! Don't book just to be done with it though. It couldn't hurt to make another phone call- maybe just to confirm that you should book with SM.

Go for it, if you like their style and it suits you book em.On the other hand if you feel like you need another option, thats fine also.
But there is always one thin you go over budget for, your not broke after the wedding for nothing....

Re: DO i go for it on flowers??
you know that feeling like you think you found it, but you are so anxious about spending so much money that you are not sure?? Lately, i am not sure about a lot of things!! I just am having trouble making decisions. I think i will call the other one just to make myself feel better. if they really are much cheaper then i will think about it. if not that much difference, i won't worry about it. GOODNESS gracious, i am turning krazeee!!Wacky, i think since i started wedding planning i have gone over budget on EVERYTHING so far (even on my lunch!)
Thanks a lot girls!!

Re: DO i go for it on flowers??
Hey sweetie I planned from VA and the prices you get from different references are so off when it comes to NYC prices. I will tell you planning a wedding long distance go with the vendor that you click with the best. The ones you can call ten thousand times and they never act up. Believe me I called all my vendors for something almost every day. My hall coral house knew my voice when I called and said I was the first person they ever had that called so much. They were great and always went above and beyond forme. You really really need that when you are planning long distance. I say go with the better vendor.

JoRo, I'm all for the gut instinct thing. Have you considered talking to Heidi at SM again and telling her you really need to keep to your budget of XXX and see what she can do, sometimes they can really help. Just a thought. Planning from out of state is tough, I'm doing it too. My phone bill is going to be 'over budget'!!!

I am also using Heidi. I met with her & loved her! I had planned on meeting with other florists but never did. I felt very good about Heidi & she gave me a great price. She is also a good friend of my SIL and did her & my brothers wedding.Welcome New Vendors
