Do I have to have a color theme? Does everyone have one? I was thinking of putting my BP in black-- and keeping the bok's simple-- what are your colors?? I'm Fall of '08-- do I need to have colors?

Re: Do I have to?
You can really do anything you want, if you can picture it in your head and you like the way it looks then go for it!! A lot of brides put their BMs in black.

you dont have to do anything its your wedding! Brides like to pick colors just so it looks pretty and coordinated. Fall colors are beautiful maybe you can go with browns, orange, and greens in your BM bouqets, and still keep it simple, just to add some color to the black dresses. The bouquets would really stand out that way.

It is totally up to you, color theme just make it easier, like picking bm dress and flowers. It your BM is wearing black, then blace is your color. What colors are you using for your invitations?
I am picking purple and rose.. what shade of purple, I am not sure yet, so BM dress will be purple, my invites and flowers will be mix of purple and rose. That's all..

my BMs are in black and im using lots of bright accent colors to make it [pop. I like the black idea cause then im not stuck with something i dont like - and also the girls can wear their dresses again if they want.

I dont have a color theme and my Bridesmaid and my MOH are wearing different color and style of dresses - they are picking whatever looks good on them.

Re: Do I have to?
I think I may stick with black as my 'theme' like black and white-- the very fist gift that FH bought me was a Kim Anderson figurine(a little boy & girl all in black & white except for the roses) and I was thinking af using that for our cake topper- so the black & white may work!! Thanks Girls!

No. I don't think there will be any type of theme to my wedding at all. My sister will pick a dress and I'll pick flowers that go along with that. other than that, nothing else will really be coordinated. Do whatever you want!!

There's no wedding police that will come after you if you don't have colors or a theme. Personally, I think some brides go overboard with their themes and colors, it gets oppressive, or twee. It's good to have a color scheme only that things will be coordinated. If you want black dresses, then pick colors for the flowers that will look good with black, and then go from there.
Good luck!

Re: Do I have to?
someone else like me!!!!!
my MOH and BM are selecting their own outfits. I told them to make it a black knee length skirt and an ivory top.....
We have an unavoidable blue and white theme throughout the ceremony and reception..... unavoidable becuase the church and hall both have prominent blue and white throughout....
We are not adding any more blue to that mix. We will have ivory and celery green bo-ks and centerpieces.... a sort of non-color floral composition....
my color theme is 'whatever colors I think are pretty'
lots of hot, bright, rich colors - the bridesmaids are in blue, my mom is wearing burgundy, the flowers are in various tropical shades... I just got the fabric in for the guest book I want to make and it's a sort of deep turquoise...
and to give you an idea, this is a sample of the flowers in my bouquet... just add yellow lilies.
I don't think you need a color scheme. I have one only to help keep everything cohesive in my head. My MatOH had us wear black and each had a different color flower in our bo-ks. Theres pics in my album

I am fall of 2008 too. My bridesmaids are wearing black and will have white flowers. I am wearing white and will have red flowers. My color theme is black and white with accents of red. Simple yet elegant!
