do i have to wear a slip?

do i have to wear a slip?

I was not happy with my dress at my first fitting, because of the 'poofiness.'

My 2nd fitting is this Thursday.
If I dont wear a slip, it will be much less 'poofy.'

Is a slip a necessity?

TIA

Try it on without one and see what you think! The only thing it really affects is the poofyness which then affects the hemline.

My dress was not poofy so i had no slip, although they did ask if i was wearing one...i was like...NOOO!

Ok, so it is completely my decision?

I have a dress with pick-ups and the thing is so heavy as it is.... I think I will feel a lot better without it.

Ill let you know on Thursday.

THANKS

I have one, but if I were you I would just try it on without and then again with it on. Take pictures of each way,, this way you can if your really do need it.

I think it would make a difference in your hem though, that's probably why they want you to have it too. Remember to bring your shoes.

Well, one place I went to, the woman said w/ certain dresses it was good to wear a slip to keep all the layers from the dress from going in between your legs. It made it alot more comfortable for you to walk. My dress is not poofy, but if wearing a slip means I'll be more comfortable and be able to dance all night - I might have to consider it.

My dress was not poofy, they wanted me to wear a slip just so it wouldn't go between my legs when I walked down the aisle. I ended up just wearing something I had at home that went right below my knees and took it off after the ceremony!

I bought one, and didn't wear it. when I put it on under my gown it looked too poofy...

but, there are different degrees of poof in slips, so maybe your slip is just too much, and a less bulky one is what you want?

just make your decision before the hem is altered, and all will be golden....

I didnt wear one-I didnt want my dress being anymore poofy then it already was

It's not necessary. My dress kinda needs one in order to look more full (otherwise mine just kinda hangs) but lots of dresses have fullness on their own and don't need it.

No, I didn't. My gown had an inner skirt, then crinolines, then the real outerskirt. I could have put on a slip, but it wouldn't have fit very well, and would have made me too poofy. If you like the way it looks, stay there, just make sure you can walk gracefully in it--that the fabric doesn't get stuck to your legs--and make sure it's hemmed to the right length, slip or not.

Can you wear the single layer slip? Only because I noticed something at the store. We named it 'camel dress' it is such heavy fabric, it falls between your legs. But with the slip on, it kept it straight. You don't need a poofy slip, but the single layer might be better for you.

Re: do i have to wear a slip?

I am going to ask them about my options on Thursday.
I have a feeling that they are going to recommend that I continue to wear the poofy slip.

Thanks a lot for your advice.
I will keep you posted!
