Do i invite people i dont want to the wedding??
Sorry, this is pretty long!
FH wants a larger wedding and has a pretty decent size list of people he wants to invite, which is fine with me. The problem with this is that i dont have a large family and it will seem like there are literally only 20 people from my side there.
The reason why is that my parents are divorced, so i was never close with my dads family. on my moms side, well, lets just say that they were never nice people. i didnt have a very loving childhood around these people because they were always judmental, materialistic, shallow and always had negative comments about my life and others and any successes i had. im not exactly sure why it has been like this but they were always the type of people to make fun of overweight people on the street or people who couldnt afford 'expensive' things, you know what type of person i mean. i assume it was a confidence thing, i dont really know. anyways, i am not close with them and am embarrassed by their behavior and dont want them at my wedding.
so....i only truly want to invite about 20-25 people from my side. should i invite and pay for my dads side just to even it out even though i have to pay for them myself? or should i just invite the people i want but have my side reallly small? FH dosent want uneveness at all but i dont want to pay thousands of dollars just for that. there is no way my father would help pay for his family (if he helped, than anyone can come!)
