Do I Invite the Boss?

So, I'm very close to the people I work with. My Matron of Honor and one of my BMs both work with me. And the entire team that works for me is invited because we've all been very close for years. I'm only not inviting one person because I just hired him, and he won't know the difference. A few other people I work with are invited also.

But here's my dilemma. My BM thinks I should invite our new boss. He literally just started 2 weeks ago. He lives in FL and probably wouldn't come, but she thinks he'd give me a wedding gift. I don't know that I should invite him just because he's my boss. What do you girls think?

i dont think i would since he just started two weeks.. i'd invite the old boss before inviting this one.. i dont think he'd get insulted either..

ditto. if you're not close, don't invite him. cause really he might get the invite and say 'looks like she's just tryign to squeeze a gift out of me' (like your BM is suggesting)...and that's just bad taste!
