We have 5 people coming from out of state for our wedding. Everyone else is on LI. The OOs'ers are staying at the Hyatt in Hauppauge. I can't room block there because there's a financial obligation if they don't get booked.
Should I do a block of courtesy somewhere else? I honestly can't imagine that our guests would book a room when they live 30 mins from the wedding?

I stayed at a hotel when the wedding was only 30 mins away bc there was a shuttle and FH and I both wanted to drink.
You may want to see if there are any nearby hotels that offer free shuttles with NO financial obligation. We blocked rooms at the Best Western in Woodbury for our guests...they gave us a free shuttle so it didn't cost us anything,.
