IMO you should. It is a really nice way to go back and look at what happened, cause you will most likely be so busy that you will forget! Plus, it's something nice to do on your anniversary. You can find someone just to shoot and do a simple edit for under 1,000 on craigslist.....

Re: Do I Need a Videographer?
ok, I was reluctant to post on here because I have already whined about this a few times in the past month.
GET A VIDEO!
I didn't want one until about 3-4 months before my wedding. the problem was that no matter what I said, I could not convince my DH to hire one.
so of course, I am very depressed about it now but I have to move on.

Re: Do I Need a Videographer?
Yes! I just wanted someone to capture the day but now I can't wait for the video..... I didn't even realize they were taping all day and I am so excited to see things like the guys ushering at church, etc that I missed and my sisters hysterically crying down the aisle. A videographer will make sure it's all there, you can get a very basic package if you don't want to spend a lot of $. My photographer had video packages so I just went with that! (plus it's great to share with people who couldn't make your wedding but wanted to be there!)

Re: Do I Need a Videographer?
my friends dad bought a new video camera to capture her day. he did something wrong and lost the ceremony. and her ceremony was so beautiful and she is so upset!!!
another friend of mine received an amateur video as a gift. the person did a great job and edited it and made a DVD menu. it was not as polished as a professional one, but it's really nice. the only problem was that the person was unsure as to how to stay out of people's way at the wedding and still get the video.
i didn't have to make that choice because my husband is really into anythuing technology related, so he wanted a video. i am glad he insisted on it, though. there are certain things that i cannot wait to see on my video!!!! just little things but i am so eager to see them!!

I would get a video. There is so much that you're going to miss and this way you get to see everything all over again. Plus, it's something to show your children one day.

Re: Do I Need a Videographer?
Fh and I wanted one but nothing crazy- a step above raw footage. The highlights are the main part that we want. We didn't want any of our guests to have to film the wedding- we wanted them to enjoy. I have heard that kids love to see the video years later and I think it's nice on anniversaries. I'm sure that we'll only watch the hightlights most of the time!!
I'd rather have it and regret the $1000 spent than not have it and wish I had gotten it. Also, I heard that most of the say is a blur!!

Re: Do I Need a Videographer?
spend the money on the video - cut it someplace else - you really get alot out of a pro video =- all the moments you didnt have time to see definately worth it

Re: Do I Need a Videographer?
Do you need a videographer???? IMHO, the only things you actually need at a wedding are the bride, the groom, someone to perform the ceremony, the license, and the witnesses. Everything else is gravy.
That said, if you are having a 'wedding' and not just a civil ceremony at town hall, photography and videography are the two things that will forever capture the day. That will be what you look at 10 years from now when you want to relive the day, or catch a glimpse of someone that was at your wedding, but is no longer living at that time.
