I told my mother that I intended on taking care of my real nails and just getting a manicure for the wedding....she thought that this was a bad idea....and that I should have tips put on. Its not that I don't like the way tips look...but I have no intention on keeping them after the wedding....and I hate how they ruin your real nails. Is it a horrible idea to just get a maniure? My real nails are a nice length ...but they are not super long.
I think that's fine! I got the permanent french done but more for the convenience of being able to go on Thurs for my Sunday wedding and knowing they'd still look perfect. I'm not a nail person either but I'll probably keep these going until after my honeymoon (June) so that they are perfect for that two weeks. You would just have to get your nails done as close to the wedding time as possible.
I don't plan on getting tips either. My nails are healthy and strong. I keep them short and unpolished as a rule because I don't have time to maintain them. For the wedding though I will let them grow a little longer than I usually do (like my hair, my nails grow fast too) and get a professional manicure (french).
The only problem with getting a regular manicure is that it chips very fast. So you really need to go the morning of your wedding or the night before in order for them to look good. I'm not going to have any time for that, so I'm going to get tips put on. Tips will look good for 2 weeks, so I won't have to worry.

Maybe you can do the acrylic wraps..this way you can keep your length but the wraps will last longer and look more real.
i am getting a mani the day beofore and applying some serious laquer to it. I'm sure it will be fine. tips do look nice, but if it is not your thing, don't do it.
I'm not getting fake nails either - too uncomfortable and annoying - i would probably rip them off before the wedding came anyway. do whatever is comfortable for you!

I wouldn't sweat it...if you prefer the regular manis, then go with it. You can always bring one of those trial sized bottles of nail polish remover on the HM with you (that's probably what I'll do). Good Luck!
I am definitely going to have tips on for the wedding because I have boy nails regularly.
Im going to do the same as you. My nails are longer and nice, but sometimes they break at the worst times so I think Im going to try to get them silk wrapped?
Def no tips... short, neat and manicured looking is all you need. I think I am just getting clear-- it is what I always get-
