Original post by soon2b

hello ladies i got engaged on christmas and joined the board back then...me and fh started to experience some problems so i got discouraged about planning and now that we are back on the up and up i want to start planning...i have nothing done..im trying to work off of a 10,000 budget (being realistic no more then 13,000) but i think im dreaming which is whats stopping me from planning this 'big' wedding...i was so excited when i first got engaged i wanted to out and start looking back then but then i kept telling myself i still have time and here we are in june...and im trying to get married the beginning of next august

I would start planning now yes.

To help you , its a lot cheaper to do it in the winter, I dont know about fall...and keep it an intimate wedding.

Re: Do I need to start now???

Hi there! I bumped my wedding up an entire year and started planning last month.

we got the church, the reception hall, my dress, the invites ordered, the photographer, the DJ , ordered bridesmaids dresses AND in our second week of pre cana

when theres a will....

so far i have:
The Church
The RH
The Band and the DJ
The Photographer
The Video
The Save the Dates are waiting to be mailed
Signed up for Pre Cana

and that's it. I'm getting married in 9 months and got most of that stuff done in one week. This place is amazing for that.

what kind of wedding do you want? any ideas where you want to have it? there are a few threads with RH prices posted and stuff.
Let us know how we can help!

Re: Do I need to start now???

well my family is big so im thinking about 150 guests if not more...reception (food and music) is very important to me..then comes my dress.......i have to sit with fh and find out what his top priorities are...after all it isnt just my day..his mom said she would help but hasnt said what she would would help with or how much and i really dont want to depend on her

i loooove the coral house but its kinda outta the way (live in queens thinking about travel for guests) and i dont think we'll be able to afford it but who knows. i love terrace on the park also

i called verdi's and they gave me a brief quote of $60 per person which sounds more in my budget but they dont have a coctail room (which i dont really know if its necessary) and they dont have a bridal suite...

his mom friend is a planner as soon as we get our son christened in july i want to talk to her about my options...one thing at a time

im shooting for a friday/saturday wedding in august

coral house should be able to meet that price for a friday- i think they quoted me $65 for a saturday afternoon- and it included centerpeices, cake-- etc and i had been to a wedding there the month before and the food was amzing- especially the cocktail hour..

Re: Do I need to start now???

my wedding is in 11 months and i just booked the hall last week and i started to meet with djs. from what i`m told they book up fast so i wanted to get that done first. and i bought my dress last night. i didn`t want anything over the top and it only ended up costing me 299 on sale at davids bridal. my budget is along the same line as yours. just try to save money anywhere you can. i always wanted a summer wedding and i thought it was out of my reach because they are so expensive then i ran into tall grass and they are like half the price of any other hall this time of year. so do your research and try a lot of do it yourself ideas. gl!!!!
