Male cats do in particular.

My cat is extremely loveable. We thought that after she got fixed, she would calm down, but she did not. If anything, she is more playful now because she is not always in heat like she used to be.
BUT, the cat that I had when I was growing up, did calm down after he was fixed. Maybe it does have to do with the gender.

If you got your cat from the NSAL he's probably already fixed. Mine was.
And no. It didn't calm him down one bit. As I can prove since I now have a claw mark on my rib cage since he was able to jump from the ground to my back and slipped a little *OW*
