I want to make my own seating cards to match my programs. I think I'll mess them up if I try to fold them, so I think I may just make them flat. Is that ok? Would it look funny?

I think that is a nice idea. I don't think it will look funny.

I was at a dinner recently where they were flat and they looked quite lovely.

I think it will look fine. You can even have rose petals and candles around it.

Mine were in envelopes and were laying flat on the table. I don't think they will look bad.

Re: Do my place cards have to be tented?
Good Idea! But if you are hesitant, here is an easy way to fold. Find a nice hard edge somewhere you can fold, like the counter or the table. Place the card flat on the table, with half of the card hanging off, and fold down along the edge. This way you get a nice creased fold. You could even place a piece of tape on the table where the end of the card should line up, so the fold will be the same and even on every card.
But hey, I say just lay them flat, and maybe sprinkle some rosepetals around. It will look very classy!
