Don't mean this as a rude question, but I was just wondering...
just planning out some budget stuff, and although I'm not banking on this (no pun intended), I was wondering if there are people who give $$ as shower gifts? I always gave gifts off the registry, but at this points, I will love the people who did the cash thang!
(there's also our honeymoon registry, which I would LOVE people to do!!)

The last shower I went to, I gave cash because I knew the couple needed that more then items for the apartment they already lived together in. You may get some cash gifts but I'm thinking most ppl. give registry items or gift cards.

I got about 350 in cash at my shower and about 450 in gift cards

From what Ive seen - ive seen ppl give cash - if there wasnt any more things on the registry - i would say abt 3 ppl gave cash at my sil's shower - and 75 ppl attended. HTH!

I got 2 gift certificates to Fortunoff's and 2 checks and the rest came off my registry.

I got a small few, but only from people who didn't come to the shower. I would have to say that given the pubic nature of the gifts at showers I wouldn't count on too many cash gifts.

I got some cash gifts, but most of the non wrapped gifts were gift certificates to Fortunoff and B,B&B

nobody gave me straight out cash, though i did get a lot from my HM registry which as you know, is essentially cash for you. I'd go that route - stick a card from your HM registry in your shower invite. I think ppl like to know sometimes that they are giving you a 'thing.'

Of the 50 or so gifts I received at my shower only 1 was a check.
I actually liked getting the money, we can use it to help pay a vendor.
Edited to add: we also rec'd 3 gift cards.

We should throw ourself a shower. I am in the same shoes. Not enough people here on LI. Except MOH, they are all OOT.

I gave gift cards, American express gift cards so they could buy what they wanted. No real cash at the shower.
