Do people really enjoy going to weddings????

Do people really enjoy going to weddings????

Everytime I hear someone talk about how they have to go to a wedding they sound like they don't really want to go or that it is a pain in the butt that they have to go - whats the deal with that??

I don't people moaning and groaning that they have to go to my wedding

I think about the same thing!! all the time I hear people complaining.. they have to get something to wear and then give a gift, I also hear ALOT of people complaining what day of the week.. oh I have work the next day or can you believe how late the ch is starting??

eta. I personally love weddings and usually have fun when I go.. I think its certain peoples weddings when your 'obligated' to go makes it worse.

To be honest, there are some weddings that are a pain to go to or that I would prefer not to attend but feel obligated to (I'm sure we've all been there).
Then there are my friends and family weddings that I love to go to...

Overall I love going to weddings. But I have dreaded a few (actually some in my very own family) because I just knew there'd be some 'issues' at the event , and it was purely an obligation

People are always gonna find something to complian about. Don't worry if ANYONE is thinking that about your day, because all that matters is how special your wedding is to YOU and your FH

I personally love going to weddings. It's a big party with endless food, drinks, music and dancing! The only way I'm not loving it is if there are too many close together - expensive!

I hear ya! I think what it is and Im not speaking for everyone out there but, unfortunately some people dont like to shell out a gift. With everything being so expensive, you dont want to look cheap(if u dont have it, its different) but dont want to be generous(especially if you cant).
That can be why they moan and groan and at the same time they dont want to 'reject' the invite.

IMO....I think stop the groaning and go have youself a good time because that is what ends up happening ANYWAYS!

I feel the same way... Or when you know a couple should not be getting married you feel like you don't want to go and when you know a couple is really in love you love to go so you can watch them celebrate that love.

I LOVE, love, love love weddings. They only time i do not like them is when i will not know anyone of FH is in the bridal party, but that usually fades after a few cocktails.

Generally speaking, I love going to weddings. The only time I don't is when it's more of an obligation - ie - certain friends, co-workers, family members....

I feel the same way! Some I LOVE and some I just feel obligated! Don't worry about your wedding...I had a BLAST at mine and I don't really care if someone wasn't

Like when I have to go to one of Rays coworkers weddings I dont enjoy that!

i love going to weddings!! it is a pain sometimes when it's a wedding you really don't want to attend, you go b/c you are obligated. i wouldn't worry about it!!

Same here, I LOVE, LOVE Weddings. I can't wait till next year, I have 2 weddings to go to.

One wedding I dreaded going to was back when I was with my ex and we already replied yes. 2-3 months later I started dating my DH. So I ended up going to this wedding with my ex and feeling so lonely and missing my DH soooo much

FH and I love to go to weddings!!!

The only time we're not so thrilled to go is if the wedding lands on a holiday like Memorial Day, Labor Day, or July 4th. But even then we always end up having a great time.

ETA: Last year FH and I had like 8 weddings, 4 of which we were in the wedding parties, so it became very expensive. We loved going to the weddings, but were often pretty broke because of them!

Personally - I like weddings. Sometimes - for some people - I think it's a chore to go to weddings, but who doesn't have fun once you're there??? It's the whole idea that it's a commitment of your time and money - and for us hard workers - we need all the free time and money we can get our hands on!

Trust most people don't like to go, I have a friend who literally balls out crying that she does not want to go to any more weddings, but then again she is still single. I think, when you plan your own wedding, you appreciate them even more.

I think the couple sets the tone for the wedding..
If they are up and about dancing, laughing and having a good time...the guests will be having a good time.
If the couple is sitting at the table or just walking around saying thank yous.....people will be BORED
