People are shady, heck, people may even think I'm shady since I'm not very forthcoming with personal info, but whatever, I had a bad experience with an internet person before, and I won't let it happen again.
As far as your situation goes, chalk it up to jealousy, and move on. This person isn't worth the time of day if they'll talk about you and your family AT YOUR OWN PARTY. Geez...what nerve. Anyway, be glad that you found out that she is shady before you put more into your relationship. Forget about her, and move on. Life is too short to bother with usless people.

I think what she is saying is how can people who profess their friendship to her go behind her back at a very important event in her life and bad mouth her, her FI, family and friends. Imagine her hurt when a close family member told her what happened.
She is a better person for not outing htis person publicly, if it were me I can't say that I would have that much restraint or class

Theresa, I say stop giving this person this much attention. They did it already and like I told you, you live and you learn. Don't waste good energy sweating small stuff and people with small minds. This person, might start to feel like they are important enough to receive this much attention. Its her loss to have lost you as a friend.

She didn't mention any names, but its not hard to figure out who it was...there weren't that many LIW girls at your party.
T - Rather than deal with this publically on the boards (creating more drama), why not have it out with that individual? (not mentioning names, because if you don't want to, I'm not going to be the one who does).
You believe you have a valid reason to be upset - have it out and move on (with or without her in your life). Bringing it up (in various ways) on here doesn't do anything (except maybe make that person uncomfortable), or maybe you want us all to know - in which case, just tell the story rather than hinting at it here and there.
Its not worth all this aggrevation to you.

hasn't it become a spectacle? not saying T was wrong (she has every right to vent), but she didn't keep it to herself just because she didn't mention a name. Its fairly evident who's being accused.

LisaT - although some may know....I would think it would be hard to say everyone does.... Not to mention T comes here to vent about it and get her feelings out the same way we all do about friends, BM's, Family.... It just so happens this person frequents the board....

You're right, a lot of people probably haven't bothered to figure it out. I think I missed my calling as a PI, or maybe I just have too much time on my hands
As I said, she has every right to vent. But considering how these things always turn on her, I was just suggesting another way of handling it.

I think this board is a lot like a sorority. There are a lot of girls from different backgrounds with a common interest all together. Now, within the group are nice, mean, divas, rich, poor, educated, uneducated, in shape, not so in shape, loves to travel, likes to stay home, etc...etc... And the worst part is that some of these people would rather hurt another feelings than just say nothing at all. Similar to a school, there are cliques and people who are just sorta friends, then there are people who are very close too. It is a sampling of the real world in many ways.
T- all people come into our lives for a reason. We don't always know the reason but at some point it makes sense to us. When someone hurts your feelings very badly you just become even stronger Whether this girl was a LIW girl or a childhood friend doesn't matter. I think the important part is that you know what kind of person she is and can now take her out of your circle.
