Do the mom's dresses need to be in the same color family

as the BP. My mother in law just told me she bought her dress in navy blue. This is my BM dress.

Sorry, the picture is an unrecognizable format. The color is pecan.

Mine are not. My FMIL is wearing navy blue and my mom is wearing eggplant and my BMs are in Kiwi.

I don't think they have to be in the same family. My mom is wearing navy and my bm are in pink.

my girls are in Euro red, and my mom is wearing a dark burgandy. The colors are different enough that I ok'd it. FMIL did not choose her dress yet, but the only restriction I gave was that it was not a 'pastel' type color, and that it sorta blended with an autumn theme.

Not in my case -- my mom is wearing a pale greenish/blue, my FMIL is wearing champagne, and my girls are wearing lavendar haze .. I just wanted the mom's happy!! (no small task! LOL)!!

I don't think it matters unless you care. I looked at a bunch of wedding pics and there aren't that many with both moms or the grooms mom and the girls.

There is a whole list of waht they 'should do', who picks first, what color, what lenght, etc.
most people don't follow that anymore.

Most people jsut try & make sure they don't where white, black, the same as the maids or the exct same as each other, but that last one is negotiable.
