Do the moms HAVE to match?

FMIL found a gorgeous black dress - but my mom wants to wear champagne. Do you think people will think its strange?

I don't think they HAVE to match, however, I think Champagne and Black goes VERY nicely together!!!

My FMIL purchased a lavender colored dress and my mother wants to wear more of a Maroon...

My mother will NOT wear the same color as FHs mom or the BP. She likes to be unique.

of course the moms don't have to match. each should wear whatever she is most comfortable in. when my brother got married last year, my mom wore a spagetti strap navy dress while my sister-in-law's mom wore a baby blue suit-type dress.

by the way, this black dress is stunning!

There are no rules at all there. I told my moms to get whatevery they wanted color and style wise. My moms didn't want to match. My mom wore eggplant and his mom wore a lacy/broze/brown/ivory dress.

They just tried to get colors that wouln't class with the bridal party.

mine won't match...my FMIL's likes very bold colors, where my mother likes very soft colors.

In tradition they are not suppose to match. The MOB is suppose to pick out her dress and color first and then the MOG is suppose to pick hers. In my case, both mothers will not match.

That's right jenny - my FMIL let my mom pick first (she chose grey/silver) and now FMIL will prob go with baby blue or lavender. My colors are sage and ivory.

They don't have to match, just make sure they don't clash with members of the bridal party or with family memebers, that will be in group photos.

Wow, I didn't realize this. I have been stressing about getting dress colors that matched.

So then what color flowers do the mom wear/carry?

I refuse to have them match. I will have them all match somewhat so that the moms and girls won't clash but I won't have them match in color.

I think that both mothers wearing the same color is weird. I never heard of them both wearing the same color.

The mom's don't have have to match. I think it would look a little weird if they wore the exact same color. I'm going to try to have them stick wih colors that don't clash with the BM dresses. I think black and champagne look good together.
