Do the moms HAVE to match?

FMIL found a gorgeous black dress - but my mom wants to wear champagne. Do you think people will think its strange?

Beautiful dress ... I told my MOM & MIL to wear whatever they wanted. They want to look beautiful & feel comfortable all night ... let them stand out in their own way! They both chose beautiful dresses. My mom wore plum, MIL wore black w/white sequins. Looks great in pics!

I thought they weren't supposed to have the same color? but complimentary colors...

both of my moms wore blue...my mom a cornflower and MIL a blue blue (not sure what to call it)
