Do Tux Places do alteration ON THE SPOT?

I am having this debate with FH....actually, its his parents...

See, FH dad and 3 groomsmen are from NJ, My dad and 2 GM from NY, and BM is from Maryland...

we were going to look at tuxes and start ordering this weekend..at a placein Patchogue, we ahve been there before...well, FH dad says what if they cannot alter on the spot and say 2 or 3 of them are not right? They are going to try them teh day before...etc...etc..etc....

Whats your take on this? I am so frustrated because the FUture in laws always have a say no matter what....

Sorry, Mens Wearhouse were asses to us, and ahve nothing there to even TRY, and I cannot think of a close MR. TUX to us in SAG HARBOR...so PAtchogue it was....(wa going to be...)

While I was in college I worked at a tuxedo shop during the summer. Anyway it depends on the alteration. They can take up the length of the pants on the spot. However if the jacket doesn't fit they will have to get a new one. We were able to get them the next day, so you would have to pick them up at least a day in advance. Most tux shops have extra shirts & shoes on hand for dif sizes, even pants (although remember pants are adjustable). So your biggest concern is the jacket fit.

IS that the place thats like right across from Bridal SUite and Paradise Bridal? A family owned tuxedo shop? I think thats the place we went to, and loved the guys there ...they were so helpful

Yes it is!!! We had I think Tammy, who was fantastic! Her father in law owns it and they have a place in centereach as well. We were very happy with the service. She also said no one leaves with the tux until they all try on the tuxes to make sure they fit.
