Do veils oxidize over time and turn yellow?

This is what the saleperson told me in response to why the veil that I received was a different color than the veil that I saw in the store at a trunk show when I had originally ordered it. My dress is ivory and the veil that they are trying to give me is much lighter than the one I saw when I ordered...it looks white.

Yes, they do oxidize but the other way around. They turn yellow over time when exposed to air.

Yeah, the veil that I thought I was getting was much darker than the one I received...they said it was because the one that the rep had was old and turned yellowish because it oxidized over time.

So this is true?

Yes. When I bought my veil, they taught us a special way to wrap it so that wouldn't happen.

So how do you prevent this from happening?? Do you wrap it the same way you would a wedding dress? acid-free, white tissue paper??
