Do women ever grow up?

Do women ever grow up?

In college I had a nemesis. Evil, evil girl. We had big, blow out fights. She also happened to be my sorority sister, so some of my friends are also friends with her.

So, 5 years after college graduation (and thankfully I haven't had to see the nemesis in those 5 years), my 5 year reunion starts Thursday. My best friend who was my MOH forwards me an email from the nemesis (we'll call her SOB) saying that SOB made dinner reservations for her 10 best friends for Thursday night. My MOH and other 2 best friends were included, I was not. MOH emails SOB and tells her to add me to the list. Turns out SOB has planned all sorts of activities throughout the weekend, including my MOH and friends and not me. So MOH asked SOB to include me.

Now I feel like I am too old for all this petty cr@p, but I just can't help but feel her b!tchy ways are not outgrown. So now I feel like a total tag along going to these dinners and stuff planned by SOB that I wasn't invited to, but MOH asked for me to be included in.

Some dont, so the answer is no.

Do you really have to go to this function? IMO, if I hate someone so bad, I'd prefer to not be in their company at all regardless if my friends were there!!!

I hope what I want to say is expressed correctly, but I don't really get the whole planning of events throughout the weekend. I mean, sure you go to the reunion to see your friends, but isn't the point to see a whole bunch of people you haven't seen since you graduated also? Isn't the reunion committee planning events for the weekend? I don't really understand why someone would plan her own events that not only exclude you, but also prevent the 'group' to interact with other alumni. The whole thing doesn't really make sense to me.

I do genuinely feel badly for you that you were intentionally excluded. It always hurts to be left out, no matter how old you are.

Any chance in you planning better, more fun activities than SOB luring all of your friedns away??? I betcha Sangria and chocolate covered bicycles would definitely win them over!

There are events planned throughout the weekend, but we are also left on our own much of the time (breakfasts and dinners are together, but lunches are on your own, and night activites will probably be at the bars even though there are university-planned events). I went to a huge university in the boonies and there are 800 grads from my class going, so there is always the possibility of not seeing someone unless you make plans beforehand.

MOH (BF) emailed and said we could skip dinner and catch up with our other friends at the bars later. But she also told me I should 'play nice' and 'it might be fun.' Eating glass could be more fun than making amends with SOB.

That's really sad and ridiculous that a grown woman would go out her way to hurt somone's feelings.

I think most women do grow up, but the women that don't seem to spend their time being mean, petty and hateful. It's almost as though, since that behavior worked when they were 19 or 20, it will always work. There's a point, around 25, when that behavior (drama for drama's sake, public humiliation, defensivesness, inappropriate hostilty etc) starts becoming sad and purile.

Don't feel like a tag-along. They're your friends too. And you're a better person for not doing the same thing back to her.

I agree!

eh... I know many grown women who still aren't 'grown up.'

Marriage, kids, doesn't matter.

Sorry, Beth. You're prob. too cool for her anyway

Unfortunately, some people never grow up. My grandma had friends in their 80s and 90s who still acted like petty children!

I'm sorry that she was so purposely mean Beth. Just try and enjoy the company of all your other friends. She's not worth it.

Ohh but I do enjoy being a strumpet! The funny thing is, I told the guy later that she now hated me because of him and me (that could also be a reason for the dislike since I am not sure he knew before I told him), and he said 'believe me, she was never an option whether or not you were here!'

Well then, the only fair thing to do is let her make out with your husband.

First of all, he will not be attending (but my strumpet ways of the past are in check)

Second, EWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
