Re: do you...

my own reply: I sing, I draw a teeny bit (nothing to write home about), and I'm currently learning guitar. And I love doing crafty things!

oh, and I've done a lot of theater/performance art

How about you?

that's ok, there's no point in a performance without an audience! So... you're a great contributor to the arts

And I am - many times in the audience!!!

I love music and was very into it in high school (mostly singing, music theory, etc) but unfortunately have no tallent!

But my friend is a beautiful musician and we go to see all her concerts, my cousin is in a band - go to see her

and I love going to watch/here any of the arts!

Not musical..or artistic...I wish

My dad has most recently taken violins and oil painting lessons..and omg he is doing great.

Brother has always been an amazing drawer...

I'm hoping some sort of talent will develop soon...

Re: do you...

those days are behind me

I was in the all-county chorus every year, even soloed a couple times
Lots of musicals
I was the HEAD BAND DORK (aka drum major)
I play the flute
Church choir for years

I got a scholarship to Ithaca College for music...but I chose another path, and don't do anything music related anymore. I'm a little sad about that!

you might be surprised! My whole life I thought I could NEVER draw, but I decided just for fun (and to fill up credits) to take a beginners drawing class my senior year of college, and I LOVED it. I wasn't Michelangelo or anything, but I had a lot more ability than I ever thought I could.

So... it's worth a try!

Thank you Nina, but unfortunately, it doesn't mean anything, 'cause I don't do ANY of it anymore!

oh man, I know how you feel... I was queen drama geek in high school and I just fell out of it in college... and I miss it so much! That's partly why I'm learning guitar now, so I can have a way to sort of do my musical and performance stuff in the quiet of my own home, and have a way to accompany myself.

Re: do you...

it really helped me come out of my shell.

I prefer to be alone, instead of with a group of friends. I've always been like that, so in middle school and high school, music gave me a way to 'belong'.

My chamber choir toured Southern Italy for 9 days with the New England Conservatory in my junior year. that was AMAZZZZING

theater did the same thing for me!

I really truly became 'myself' from being on the stage. It made me so much more self aware and confident.

It's amazing how these things we do affect us so much!

Re: do you...

I've been singing in my church choir since HS. I also played the clarinet for my college marching band. But I had a car accident about 4 years back and fractured a bone in my left hand, so playing the clarinet for extended periods of time hurts now. I am teaching myself how to play to flute, but this semester gives me no free time, but once it's over, I going right back to practicing daily.

My parents can draw/paint, but my stuff comes out like a 5 year olds, so I gave up on that.
