take off from work just because you have cramps? The other secretary in my office (there are only 2 of us) took off today and that was her reason and I'm P*SSED She gets away with EVERYTHING and it drives me nuts!!! I swear, one day I'm just going to go nuts on her!!! Forgive me, but I just can't stand a helpless female and thats how she acts all the time...

While I agree - and I'm sure you do too - that sometimes the pain IS that bad - I agree!

I HATE THAT HELPLESS ROUTINE and I get more mad at the men for falling for it!

I never did.

A woman I used to work with took off for every little thing. She also has a daughter and since our boss was female and trying to have a baby no matter what this woman told the boss the boss let her take off.

My favorite was her daughter was blowing out candles over the weekend and her hair cought on fire and she was taking the day off because she wanted to spend the day with her daughter.

I hate when people take advantage of sick and personal days.

that's ridiculous.... now i'm ... why you ask... because my doctor has tried everything w/the exception of putting me on actual narcotics (codeine is the only real thing that works now) to kill my cramps... that was the very reason why I went on the pill in the first place to help them out... then i found out that wasn't enough.... my doctor was up to giving me 800mg of Naproxen every 6 hrs! that didnt even take the scratch off.... i get soooooooooooooo mad when people abuse for the pinchy cramps! leave those days for other people who really have the pain, BUT COME IN ANYWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just can't stand the double standard. Because she's young and stupid, she's allowed to be young and stupid!!

I only called in sick once for stupidity. I went out on a sunday afternoon started drinking at 3pm and didnt stop till about 1am. there was no way i was making it to work so i called in sick telling them i had a stomach virus or something.

But I never call in sick. I had a car accident last year and I had to be out all week and I was miserable because I didnt feel sick and I hate using sick days unless I am seriously sick (which I never am)

I never call in for things like that...I had 2 molars removed on my lunch break a few years ago and came back to work the rest of the day. Nah, I usually wind up taking a personal day for nice weather or like next Wednesday, if I'm going dress shopping
