Do you agree that this is a tad ridiculous....?

Ok, I'm throwing my sister's surprise bridal shower on the 14th, next Saturday. I'm so excited!
My cousin, who I love to pieces and is in both mine and my sister's bridal parties, emails me yesterday to tell me she's going to be late to the shower. OK.

Her reason for being late...... she wants to put her 2 year old down for his nap before the babysitter comes!!
I'm sorry, but I think this is totally ridiculous! The rest of my family thinks it is too and if my sister could know she would just do one of these Put the kid down a little earlier or just bring him to the shower! We don't care if he's there, we're family! His 1 year old cousin will be at the shower and we'd love to have him there, he's adorable! What is the big deal! OY VEH!!

She is totally inflexible with her kid's naptime and I thinks it's waaaaaay overboard, especially since it's making her late for the surprise shower!!!!! AND she's in the bridal party and is very close to my sister!!

And to top it off I'm PMSing.
Ok, VENT OVER!

Besides you PMSing..you are right that is sooo ridiculous... I can understand if it was just a get together, but it is a SHOWER...Bring the baby and most likely he will fall asleep earlier in the night....

I hate how some people are like that. Of course their child is the center of their world, but to be so inflexible about someone else's really important day is so inconsiderate. The child will not die if his nap is earlier for one day!

that is quite silly. i think that sometimes parents become a bit too 'child-centric' when they have kids, and act like the world is gonna end if they don't put their kid down for his nap at the exact same time every single day. seriously i'ts not gonna cause long term damage if the kid goes to sleep a little earlier!
