Do you agree with this? (Re: Booty Shaking Brides)

Original post by BlondeJD

This 'Gripe' from the MSN article yesterday got me thinking:

'Gripe 6: Class act.
'I was at a wedding in Malibu and it was beautiful... until the DJ let it rip with 'Baby Got Back.' It must have been the bride's request, since she and her gaggle of friends began squealing and ran onto the dance floor. There she was, in her beautiful white Vera Wang wedding gown, with her hand in the air and her *** swinging back and forth. It was nasty. I'm not Miss Proper, but it just seemed out of place to be rump-shakin' at your own wedding.' -- Colleen, 33'

Okay, this is bad, but I could kind of see this happening at my wedding with all of my college friends there -- maybe not to 'Baby Got Back' but you know what I mean

So, are you all going to dance how you would normally dance with your friends and to the same songs OR are you toning it down for the wedding? No Usher, no Luda, no DJ Kool's 'Let Me Clear My Throat' ?

ETA: OR... are you specifically asking your DJ/band to hold off on the 'fun' music until later in the night when the older folks have left? I remember at our Best Man's black tie wedding in Miami, they played 'P.I.M.P.' and it was awesome

Oooh... I definitely need to add some DJ Kool to my 'must play' list.

This reminds me of a discussion me and FH had a few weeks ago....

After I was shaking my hips to a song (I am half puerto rican after all and he likes it when I do it in front of him....)

FH: You're not going to dance like that at our wedding, are you?

Me: Why not?

FH: Can you imagine our families reaction?

Me: My family knows how I am, and if your family wants us to produce children, they need to know how it's going to be done!!!!

To hell with that, I told him that after 8:30 or 9pm, we're playing the music we want. We're paying for it ourselves, it's an expression of ourselves, so they either get up and dance with us, stare in shock or go home!!! LOL

In my opinion there is nothing worse than a stuffy wedding. One of my closest friends had a society type affair and I love her to death and it was beautiful but soooo BORING! I wish someone would have shook it up.

Edited to say: Emberlynn I love your wedding song! I was just doing abs to that song an hour ago. SO FUN!!!!!!

Come On!!!!! It is a party!!! Planning a wedding is stressful and the reception is where we brides can hopefully just sit back and have some fun!!!! So what they shook their butts!!! I think that Collen,33 needs to see a doctor and get the stick removed from her a$$.

I second that though!!!

Please this is your day if someone thinks your style of music is inapropriate then they can leave their envelope and find the door

This is the happiest day of your life, how dare they tell you what you can & can not enjoy.
