Do you alter your gift based on the RH, or day of the week?

Do you alter your gift based on the RH, or day of the week?

If someone's getting married at a more expensive place do you feel you have to give more as a gift? Do you give less if it's a Friday vs. Saturday?

Thats so funny cause I had a discussion with my sister about this. I usually give a gift based on where and day. And of course what I can afford. If I know its a friday wedding I will give less then a sat. As long as I know I'm covering my plate(within reason of course)

This is how I feel. We are going to an Oheka wedding and I have a friend who is going to a wedding at the Plaza. I feel like I shouldn't go broke because you choose to have a platinum wedding. I still give based on closeness and what I can afford.

The one thing I have changed my gift based on is age or the B&G and whether they are paying themselves. If the people are older than we are and more established, I'm not going to hurt to give them a gift, but if they're our age or younger and I know they will need the money I will dig a little deeper.

No, I base it on what i can afford and how close i am to the person. If my friend was getting married in city hall and having cake in her apartment i still would give the same amount as if she was getting married at oheka castle.

I give what I can afford. Times are tough and we can all only give so much.

I usually base my gift on how well I know the person as well as where it is being held...I will give more if I know the place is a more expensive place

I give a gift based on my closeness to the ppl getting married...also based on what they gave me if they get married after I did. I do try to give more if I know the couple paid for it themselves, regardless of their ages. Doesn't matter to me where they are getting married or what day of the week.

Not at all. I base how much I give on how close FH or I are to the couple and how much we could actually afford. If I am actually in the BP, I would give a little more than I would if I were just a guest. Where and when they have the wedding never affects my gift decision.

Sometimes. First I base it on our relationship, like if I'm close to the person and what we can afford. BUT when we get invited as B list and you don't know the person too well, I would definitely vary the amount. I want to be fair but also make sure we cover our plates and then some!

EDA: Day of the week doesn't matter to me.
