Do you and FH or DH watch t.v. together or separately?

I was laughing when I was thinking about this yesterday!!!! Thank God, FH and I have other things in common cause it is not anything on t.v.!!! I love my reality shows and especially MTV!!! He hates reality shows and especially MTV!!! He prefers to watch his football games or a movie (I never have the time to sit down and watch a whole movie)!!! It is weird how we spend a lot of our evenings separated like this!!!

DH is now addicted to every show i watch .. including friends sometimes HE'LL start watching some random hollywood hookups show on VH1 (definitely not something he would have done before we got married!). it's great .. we're both TV addicts, we watch all our tv together.

We mostly enjoy separate shows. I am much more of a reality TV person, whereas DH loves the History Channel and Discovery Wings. Don't get me wrong, I like to learn about history but there is just so many shows on World War 2 and the Stealth Bomber that a girl can handle in an evening.

We do watch the Sopranos and The Shield together.

Seperate shows. I like most of the shows on tv, even the reality shows, he hates them. He likes the older shows, so he is a big Nick at Nite and TVLand fan, if not than news, History channel or sports.

We don't really have that many shows in common, but we both sacrifice and watch it together often. (God how I wish I would never have to watch anothe Mail Call on the History Channel )

we only have 1 tv, and the computer is in the same room so we watch everything together! thankfully we like the same shows, or at least, he likes what I like now!

Tivo has saved my marriage We do not like the same types of shows, so we used to spend most time in seperate rooms-me watching 'junk' as DH calls it, him watching 'quality programs' which is anything involving a ball. Now, I can Tivo something and watch it later, which is how I ended up watching 9 hours or something of football on Sunday. I got to see SATC on Monday instead. I find myself getting more into sports now, I can even hold an intelligent conversation about football, and I yell at the TV whenever DH does

Together a HUGE part of the time.

I grew up watching my grandparents watch tv separately- and I did not like it, my inlaws often watch Tv separately.

I like to cuddle on the couch with Dh and laugth at the TV and make comments with him.

we don't really agree on TV shows except American Idol & we both enjoy the news and news shows like DATELINE or 20/20 or PRIMETIME--interviews and such. He loves SCI-FI/ACTION/CRIME shows and movies. I have zero interest in that stuff. I love all girlie movies--brain candy i like to call it! in other words I love mindless Reality TV and movies. haha it's ok though because i can go to the movies with my gf's and he can go with the guys and neither one of us have to suffer---we did that in the beginning of the relationship--how many romantic comedies did the poor man have to see he's done his time!
sometimes, we will suffer one for the other just to cuddle on the couch!

Friends
Sex in the City
ER
Everybody Loves Raymond
My Wife and Kids
Law and Order (especially SVU)

But for the most part we watch TV in separate rooms - Me in the den and he in his 'entertainment' room. It definitely keeps the peace. We don't fight over who was 'here first'. Or my biggest pet peeve, flipping during all commercials - UGH that gets on my nerves.

If you call FH sitting on the sofa with his head bent over his laptop, working...then yes, we watch TV together.

When he manages to take a break...we watch whatever the person who has the remote, wants to watch...until the other person has complained enough and regains control of the remote.

FI and I were talking about this the other day! We dont live toghether and honestly we dont liek alot of each other shows! So I guess we will find a compromise or never see each other!
I actually am startig to like some of his stuff! But he is a baby when my stuff is on! He cant watch more than 1 TLC show in any 10 hour span, he cant imagine how I can stand reality tv and he doenst like my WB teen bopper shows (I can admit it!) However we both like all those stupid E true HOllywood story and VH1s Driven so there are some to keep us speaking!
Although we will be purchasing TiVO before we move in!!!!!!!

With my DH's work schedule, we rarely get to watch TV together, and when we do, it's usually a DVD we rented from Netflix.

Some of the shows he'll watch with me, if he happens to be home are ER, Third Watch, and he actually enjoyed Average Joe a few times.

We have some TV/Movie tastes in common, and others that are opposite. He's more into the manly stuff--war movies, stupid comedies. I like more of the dramas and romantic comedies. But we meet in the middle.
