Do you ask this to DH/BM/SM/JW?whatever you're calling him?

Original post by JanuaryBride06

I ask the man when he gets home, 'What did you eat today?' or 'Are you hungy?' at least once a day. Even on the phone I'll ask.

It's such like a mom question. I just realized that last night.

We do the 'what are you in the mood for'
with 17 menus in front of us. NO ONE will state the food they want. It's a royal pain in the a$$

omg this is us too.

then it goes.

'ok so what DON'T you want'

that question we are always able to answer.

He gets low blood sugar, so I ask him if he needs some suge (same pronunciation as Suge Knight.)

If I ask JW if he wants some suge, he doesn't think I am talking about food.

I am waiting for the day that my FH catches on to the idea that Suge may not mean food.

I ask him this every day

and the wierd thing is - sometimes he wont eat for the whole entire day and he STILL won't be hungry!

if i am 15 minutes off schedule i have been known to actually cry out of hunger . . . he should seriously be 100 lbs. . i dont know how he does it!!

Our dinner arguements will always start like that. Then I will list food after food, naming maybe 47 things we could eat, to which he will continually respond with 'no'.
So I will say- 'what do you want?' Likely in a louder voice each time. And he will say 'I don't know- you pick'.

No. I have zero percent mothering instinct. What the hell is wrong with me?

I'm totally with you there.

AND I'm with child - whens that mothering instinct gonna kick in?

This arguement actually has the ability to transcend topics.
'What do you want...'
1) To eat
2) To do today
3) To see in the movies
4) do about planning that trip you want to take in 2 weeks?!?!?

Do you have an Andrea Yates instinct? Because that is pretty much the opposite of a mothering instinct. If you aren't vibing Andrea, you are probably ok.

Last night I seriously made dinner only for myself because he was being so grumpy about not wanting anything specific. Then, when my dinner was in the oven, he finally made a decision.

I threw dinner away last night. I give up with him sometimes

I just walked by him and without even thinking asked how his lunch was.

Had to report back to this thread!

So, how was it?

Good. (with the head nod)

I don't ever ask. I make him a lot of something on Sundays and put it into Tupperware for him to have for lunch all week. He'll e-mail me 'it was good' and I'll know he meant lunch.
