Re: do you believe
Am I the only one who kept friend invites?
Maybe since all of my friends weddings just started... it'll probably change in a year or two...
that amount is rediculous though. I think 100 for me... with everything, will be like $350 or something... I know 100 of the invites alone are like $77

Re: do you believe
No wedding costs shock me anymore. The invitations I orginally wanted were going to cost over a thousand for a 100 also. and that was without engraving!

Re: do you believe
i do believe...the first invitations i liked were about $2500 and that's not even with all the trimmings you could get for them. did not get them needless to say, BUT if i could have i would have...they were amazing.

Re: do you believe
Here's an idea:
Go to party city--a friend got hers from there--and they were a funky Z fold---think: booklet that opened with 4 panels.
they were simple and white with silver hearts on top. the cover of the invite had their names on it and the date.
They didnt spend more than $400, including printing, stamps--and that was for 200 invites!
If you're feelin' crafty---you can always make them---this is one of those times when my art school education will come in handy--i'm getting price quotes right now, but i'm willing to spend a bit more, b/c i will be making them all by hand. Right now, including all the stamps, the best quote ive gotten is $496.
i just need to give myself a few weeks to print and assemble, but it should be fine!
Good Luck!

Re: do you believe
This is just my opinion, but the majority of people throw out wedding invitations, so it seems like an incredible waste of money to spend alot on them.

I disagree with most of the above posts --I think that invitations set the tone for your wedding --people get a feel for what type of wedding you are having from the invites...
I really don't think it is such waste to spend a lot on them --i mean --the flowers will be thrown away too and your dress will only be worn once so what is the difference???

I have to say..Good Point. I was shocked too and thought..., 'Oh Hell no I'm not spending that much on invites.' O But you make a good point. My invites wont cost nearly that much but that's where I choose to save some money.
To each is own. Either way that is on the expensive side. It just depends on weather you want to spend that much or not.
