Re: Do you ever...

My latest 'tiff' involved my directionally-challenged FH. Last weekend, we were on our way out of the city to put our deposit down on the Old Field Club.

Keep in mind my FH cannot manuever his way out of a paper bag, let alone find his way from our apartment in Manhattan to the LIE.

So I'm driving downtown, heading toward the midtown tunnel (which puts you right on the LIE), and I'm on the car phone with my parents. Now, granted, my concentration is a little bit off when Im on the cell phone - but still, I'm on auto-pilot. So traffic gets really backed up, and we're not moving. But we're literally 5 blocks from the tunnel (we're at about 42nd street and the tunnel entrance is at 36th). So we're about to pass an entrance to the FDR drive (which, if we took it SOUTH would take us RIGHT to the tunnel) and my FH is yelling at me to get on it and go NORTH and take the triboro bridge - which is at 125th Street!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why the hell would I go north for 90 blocks when I am now 3 blocks from the tunnel!?

I started yelling at him to shut up and sit there because even though he's lived in NYC for his ENTIRE life he STILL cannot get off Manhattan island!!!!!!!!!!

About an hour later we started craking up about it. But for a good 45 minutes there was nothing but silence.

MEN!

Sometimes I wonder why I listen to him.
