Re: Do you ever
It's totally normal! FH & I have been together FOREVER!! (well 6 years LOL). And i have those days when i'm so excited to marry him and start a family. And other days when i have doubts. I think it's normal. Especially after you're with someone for so long.
In all honesty; sometimes i wish we had gotten married right away-like a year in. Things were so new then and we were in that begining stage with everything was so perfect. I probably would have been on cloud nine 24/7 and would have had the wedding planned already! But then i think we would have been in for a rude awakening after a few years and dealing w/fights & arguments etc. So i'm glad that we waited and now we really know each other and what we're getting into. I just feel like after so many years you love them; but it's different. It's a more comfortable love. I can't put it into words. But to answer your question YES; and i'd be surpised if i was the only one on this board that felt that way.

Re: Do you ever
Of course you;re not alone!
FH and I have been together for like 8 or so years, We've been living together for like 6. We just went through a rough patch recently and i honestly was having anxiety attacks over making any decisions for our future.
Relationships are hard. They take work but I find they're cyclic. yesterday I was watching him walk into his building and I was like omg hes so freaking HOT! lol last week i was like if you touch me I'll stab you in the eye!
The future isn't set in stone so of course everyone wonders and worries.

Re: Do you ever
'When you love someone, you do not love them all the time, in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. It is an impossibility. It is even a lie to pretend to. And yet this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return.'
Anne Morrow Lindebergh
I love this quote and it is so true. If I was furious with FH I used to question EVERYTHING about us. But this quote is true, you shouldn't put the pressure on yourselt to have loving feelings all the time. Love doesn't work that way.

i love that quote and you're def not alone. i've been with my FH for over 7.5 yrs.. and we actually went through a rough patch recently where it was questionable if things would work out and now we've never been happier... so i agree.. it's def cyclical .. and it will always take work.

Re: Do you ever
i understand what your saying- sometimes we fight and i doubt it- but the good has always outweighed the bad and i love this man more than anything- at the end of the day- thats all that matters

Re: Do you ever
Def not alone.. Sometimes I miss being single just because I'm so independent and I like being alone, not for any other reason though.. So I go back and forth but always know that I'm doing the right thing by getting married no matter how much we argue because I love him so much, lol.. I think those little moments of doubt are a good thing and very important.. It's the biggest decision of your life and def shouldn't be taken lightly... If you get all those feelings out there is less of a chance of having them once your married because you already worked through all your fears and doubt.

Re: Do you ever
sometimes i do after we fight, but i was engaged b4 and i had doubts everyday, he had money issues and i just felt like we were getting married bc we were together for 6 years and its the next thing to do, either get married or break up....he ended up leaving me for another girl anyway so it worked out for the best
this time around i know that my doubts are not that i dont want to get married its just about the things we need to work on

Re: Do you ever
You are definitely not alone. Most of the time I am so excited to get married and start my family with my FH. But there are days when I just wish it would all go away and I don't want to deal with anything anymore. Especially when things get stressful.
