Do you ever feel like eloping?

I went to a bridal shower recently and while i was sitting there watching the bride open presents i felt like leaning over and telling my mom that i am eloping......I don't know what is wrong with me but lately i have no desire to plan this wedding anymore. I love my FH with all my heart and can't wait to marry him, but i really am overwehelmed with planning this wedding........Sorry i just needed to vent

I too feel like eloping on a regular basis. But I keep reminding myself that though your wedding is the commitment between you and fh, there are friends and family who want to share in that experience. And knowing I have their support makes the rough times a bit more bearable. Hang in there.

I feel like eloping only cuz i want to be married already!! I mean i amhaving fun planning my wedding and I actually enjoy it! But i just want ot move on with our lives together sometimes... all in due time i guess

I feel like eloping sometimes due to the fact that the more we plan and the more I realize what we are spending on one day it seems crazy. We are getting married becuase we love eachother, not so we can try to please everyone at our wedding.

I think we all feel like this at times. Just take it one step at a time. Dont feel bad to ask for help. Some of my girlfriends are loving makeing wedding plans.

OMG I feel like eloping on a very regular basis...I always say why am I spending all this money, why can't we just be married already...but my FH keeps telling me that I'll regret not having the 'big' wedding so I'll keep waiting!!!

I know how you feel. When I start thinking about the money Im like I should elope.

FH and I have thought about going to an island and eloping many a time. The only reason we decided not to is because we have such supportive families that are very much looking forward to being a part of our day. Our parents are just beaming with joy for us and we can't leave them out of such an important day (wish we could take them to an island with us but his parents don't fly).

I moonlighted as a wedding coordinator for a short time and saw the 'ugly side' of wedding planning. Many brides turned their weddings into broadway productions (if you will), that have just overtaken their lives. When things didn't go off without a hitch, they actually let it ruin their day (which actually made the grooms feel a little less important which should never be the case).

Whenever I feel a little overwhelmed or a bit like Bridezilla (my claws can come out when dealing with uncooperative vendors - LOL), I try to remember one thing: if it rains, snows, or if only 5 out of 100 people show up, my FH is the only reason why I'm there. And I will celebrate that fact ALL DAY LONG on Sept. 2nd regardless of what happens. :)

Ok, I think I've delivered enough 'mushiness' for the entire 4th of July weekend. hee hee.

I don't mind planning the wedding. I just want to be married to my FH now! My brother is getting married three months before us-otherwise we would have gotten married this year instead.

I agree with Penny. I just want to be married already!!! And stupid BS that comes up with my mom about the wedding is also enough to want to make us elope. But we're sticking with it!

It's funny, because the other day I said to Darren, lets get married! And he was like, what about the big wedding thing and such. I said we could still have the wedding... I just wanna be married. He didn't respond. I sincerely think he doesn't want to disappoint anyone if they found out we were already married, then getting married again in a church. He's VERY much a by the book kinda guy. but then again we had a baby before marriage, so that doesn't say much does it?
