No. I used to tell guys I was married when I wasn't even dating. It makes you seem even hotter.

totally.

Further, I feel like a giant dil saying 'I got married' and variations of - to anyone. Not that I am ashamed or anything.

But it's really hard to find a way to slip in the the convo with out sounding all girly and squeal-like. Two characteristics that are completely opposite of my personality.

I tried to have a convo w/out bringing it up and as a 'friend' was getting out of the car turned to me and said 'Oh, by the way - heard you got married - Congrats, he's a lucky fella.' I nearly put my head through the windshield.

this is part of my problem too. I felel ike I am 'bragging' or something...like here's my awesome new car, here's my awesome new husband...

but also, people's reactions sometimes make me uncomfortable...like palpable disappointment...that makes me feel weird.

Nope, I love telling people that I'm married. After so many sad nights thinking I'd be alone forever I'm freakin' delirious that I found a wonderful man to spend the rest of my life with!!!

Not that I brag, but if someone I haven't seen in a while asks what's new....

I mean, I'm happy so I'm gonna spread it. They should be happy with their lives too, and I hope they are, but if they aren't that shouldn't make me feel guilty.

oh reading this stinks.

i thought it would be easier to say 'I am married and this is my husband'

i HATE saying ' I am engaged and this is my fiance' i feel like i should put on a British accent when i say it. . .i feel VERY awkward about it like i am making a GRAND announcement.

exactly.

at least 'husband' doesn't sound as pretentious (to me at least) as 'fiance'. So you have that to look forward to.

oh yes, husband rolls off FAR easier than fiance did.

I called the bomb my boyfriend up until the day we were married...and sometimes I still do.

We still call each other boyfriend and girlfriend.
Fiance is the snootiest word.
I tried fidanzato a few times in public but no one got it.

I don't think I ever referred to Vic as my 'fiance'.

I call him my boyfriend all the time. It's a really hard habit to break after 13 years.

JW was the same way. Never called me his fiancee the entire time we were engaged. He actually started calling me his wife a few months before the weekend. He would interchange wife with girlfriend.
