Do you ever get the feeling that a vendor is reading your posts?
Original post by MissingTheBGene
I know that technically they aren't granted access to view other areas of the board, but let's face it, I'm sure anyone who can move around the internet can sign up under another name and IP address to see what's being said and shared.
Don't get me wrong, ALL the vendors I booked, I love and don't feel as if there are watching my posts, but there are a few vendors that I have 'inquired with' that seem to elude to knowing what I'm saying on here. Creepy. But whatever, they won't shut me up anyway, but I was just curious if anyone else felt the same way.

Me too. It creeps me out - I know the internet's a public forum, but I hate feeling like someone's reading over my shoulder.

Well, I guess you could say that this is their livelihood, and they have a right to know what's being said about them. But still, I found it a little creepy when they knew exactly what I said on here, I think I would have rather have them kept it to themselves! LOL

I'm sure that they read all the posts. I think it's pretty smart of them. If they hear a complaint they can try to fix it. People are usually more honest behind your back anyway.

First, I wanna say that CERTAIN vendors do read these posts. Come on now, some of them even try to pose as real brides! And if you are a frequent user of LIW, I'm sure you've even seen a few vendors get caught when smart LIW's sniff them out and post !!!
Oh - and a vendor who has a big fan base here on LIW asked me where I heard about the company and I said LIW... He even said to me, 'Oh, LI Weddings, yeah those girls love me on there. [laughing] Are you on it a lot?' I said, 'Yeah, frequently' and he proceeded to tell me 'Oh, I haven't figured out who you are yet, but I probably will.' !!!! We didn't end up booking him and it wasn't because of that, we felt we clicked with another company better....
I won't watch what I say, that is the purpose of these boards... for all of us to help plan each other's weddings and that includes finding the BEST possible vendors... If people do have bad experiences, then it should be known! BUT if I have an issue with my own vendor, I will confront them on it and let them know... so whatever I post shouldn't be any news to them...
OK... Think I am done now....
Ok - not done... just wanted to add that all experiences - good or bad - should be posted!

Sure the vendors read the posts, I posted a question about a DJ and got an FM directly from one.

I think its good if vendors can read posts. They should have some input so that they can improve on the downsides of there busineses. Also I think that would keep everyone on this site honest and prevent petty comments about vendors. JMO

They read them. I got an unsolicited FM from a florist who is a vendor here. They wrote that I should consider changing my wedding date because it was 4 days after Valentine's Day and roses would be too expensive - that I could save about $500 if I moved my date further away. Um did I SAY I wanted to USE roses? NO. And in the grand scheme of things, for what the grand total of what this wedding is going to cost, I'll spring for the extra $500 if I really DO want roses. I thought it was presumptuous to think that I could not afford roses not to mention incredibly rude and out of line to suggest I change my wedding date at all much less for a stinking $500. I told that vendor never to contact me again. They had no idea what I and/or my family is capable of in terms of finances.

I think they do, and who knows who else is on here lurking around, it's a public board. I recently cleared out my profile, b/c I felt like I was giving out too much info....
